There have been a number of posts in the community concerning the sale that Lush has on December 26th. As of today, nobody knows ( Read more... )

Sorry guys, but I'm not violating my employee handbook by giving out information considered confidential and privileged.

And by the way, it totally is. It says so in the e-mail we get, it says so in the handouts. It really ticks me off when SAs think they're being chummy with custies by talking about that sort of thing. It's an offense worthy of termination, and we take it very seriously.

There are so few mysteries left in life, shouldn't this be one of them?

Nobody's asking anyone to give out confidential information. :) Like it's been in the past, it will be announced to us somewhere and someone will come on here and update the rest of us. I was trying to head off the multitude of posts asking about what kind of sale Lush was having. Nobody knows (or can tell ;) ) so there's no point asking once every few days.

No, no one is asking, but lots of SAs will still spill the beans (and a few custies will still poke), which takes the joy out of the surprise. It's like planning a huge surprise for someone, and having them find out and stealing the thunder.

I know I sound like a hardass, and I don't mean to. It's a great job and it's a real joy to have this kind of fun that everyone gets involved in.

Actually...nobody has spilled the beans in the 4 posts that have asked for details. On the forum, MO people have already said there'd be a sale after Christmas and that it won't be as good as last year. So we know there will be one, online and in stores, no surprise there.

What people are wondering is *what* the sale will be but nobody seems to know. And that's fine. Like I said, three times now, is that there was quite a few posts on the subject, more than there needed to be, and people need to use tags instead of posting the same question, so I was trying to remind community members to do just that.

I wasn't asking them to spill Lush secrets. I'm not sure anyone even mentioned it except for you.

Actually, some of us "custies" (lord, I really don't appreciate being called that) *don't* want a surprise. We'd *like* to know what sales are upcoming so that we can *plan* -- it's *Lush* that doesn't want us to know (that's why the information is confidential). It doesn't help end-of-year profits to tell customers not to purchase because a big sale may/may not be impending.

I don't want anyone to get fired or violate company policy to tell me things they shouldn't but I am not so gullible that I think the reason for not spilling is "a fun surprise" -- the reason is the $$ bottom line which Lush, as a company, has every right to protect.

Meanwhile, I *have* stopped buying anything. If there is a great sale, then great. If not, not -- I'll use my 15%-off coupon then.

I'm not quite sure where this came from, no one has asked anyone to leak gossip. Perhaps it was the use of the word LUSHie that confused you? That was meant to refer to all LUSH fans in our community. The main point of the post was to let folks know that if and when they did know something and wanted to share it where to put it. We're not even talking people spilling advance knowledge here. We're talking about when people find out legitimately via LUSH Life on the 22nd or 23rd as has been hinted at by MO on the forum or by it popping up on the advent calender on the website as others have suggested as a possibility.

My understanding of it all is the SAs aren't going to find out for sure right till the end of things anyway to ensure that things are kept a secret. You can't blame LUSH - they'd lose holiday sales if they promoted things early. Of course I'm a greedy monkey and have asked for LUSH GCs so I can do my shopping if and when there is a lovely sale.

I absolutely do not think anyone should spill confidential information. I firmly believe in people upholding their word and their contracts and keeping information they are entrusted with secure.

That said, I get absolutely no benefit out of it being a mystery. I've been through several years of sales in late December and early into the new year, and the surprise element has never added anything beneficial to them for me.

So, no, I don't give a damn about the mystery. However, I am fine with other people valuing it, if there is anyone who does so. You clearly don't have it as a mystery, so you can't really value the mystery element. And nobody here seems to value not knowing. But there probably are some people who do, since the world is full of many types of people.
