It's amazing how much better one can feel after a Lush bath.

Mods: tag needed for lush oakbrook

So, I went last weekend to the St. Patricks day party at Lush in the Macy's in Oak Brook IL. I ended up getting a TON of stuff. I got 2 free bombs (Big Blue and Avobath) and a free small bottle of happy hippy, PLUS I got a grab bag that had some Jungle, more bombs, soap samples and I won a gift box of I think it was "best wishes", it had a snowman-shaped butterball, a Christmas Kisses, and Snowcake soap.

While I was there, I bought some new stuff that I hadn't tried before. Sunny Side bubble bar, a slice of Sea Vegetable, and a Blackberry bath bomb.

I tried the box the other night, and I tried the Sunny Side with an Avobath this morning and washed with Sea Vegetable soap.

First the Box. I had tried Christmas Kisses before with other bombs, but hadn't reviewed it.

Christmas Kisses Bubble bar

I love this bar. It's pretty and red and spicy. It's a more cinnamon version of my beloved Marathon. It makes baths spicy and sweet and nice. I usually like to pair it with Lush Pud or a similar food-like bomb. It turns the water a pretty light red color (because I usually only use half)

***** 5 stars. One of my favs.

Butterball Bath Bomb

Ick. In a word. Mostly because my skin doesn't really get that dry. Though, recently we've been having tons of crazy weather changes down here in C-U so, I decided I'd give this a try. Ick. It made my skin very greasy and left the tub greasy. Will not be buying this. Glad I got it as part of a prize. It does get 1 star, because after I'd dried off and washed myself with Greenwash to get rid of the greasy feeling, I did feel much softer and not itchy anymore.

* 1 star. I'll let others use it.

Snowcake Soap.

This soap isn't too bad. My skin likes it a lot. When it gets dry (which is rare) this or Alkmarr tend to be a good thing. It's also good for shaving. The bad side is, after a while, the scent makes me ill.

*** 3 stars. I'll use it if I get it for free, but otherwise, no.

Avobath Bath Bomb

LOVE this bomb. LOVE IT. It's very fresh and pretty green. I love the water color and love the scent. It's a very light and fresh scent. I usually combine this with Happy Pill or Pop In the Bath. But I decided to pair it with Sunny Side today.

***** 5 stars on it's own.

Sunny Side Bubble Bar

I was a little wary at first about this one. I'd gone without trying it for a long time. Mostly it was the glitter. I'm not a huge fan of glitter. I like it in the water, but not on me so much. But, I'd been reading about it, Lush said that it was good for "days that are dark and gloomy when you really could do with a stroll in the sunshine. " I'd been feeling that recently as I've been dealing with some stress and depression. It bubbles nicely and the scent is very nice. Very citrusy and clean. With the Avobath it was duly fresh and uplifting. Plus, it made pale green shimmery water. Hee. It was very pretty.

***** 5 stars on it's own for the lovely scent and the color. Also the glitter didn't stick to me. a new Fav.

***** 5 stars for the combo. I shall have to add this to my growing list of Combos I love.

Sea Vegetable soap

This soap isn't pretty looking, but oh my is it lovely. Lime and Lavender are the main notes here and while it doesn't lather much, it's much less drying that some of my other favorites (Ice Blue and Demon specifically) It went well with the above combo because of the lime notes. And the salt scrubby part on the top was good for scrubbing and exfoliating.

***** 5 stars very lovely and will have to buy a bigger piece the next time we go north.

I also bought a Ceridwen's Cauldron to help when my skin gets itchy and dry as it seems that winter is not quite over yet...I'm kind of scared now, given how greasy the Butterball bomb made my skin. Perhaps I'll have to get another cheesecloth and cut it into fourths or something.

ballistic: butterball, soap: sea vegetable, ballistic: avobath, soap: snowcake (seasonal), bubble bar: christmas kisses (discon), cocktails, bubble bar: sunnyside, tag needed
