It's been a while since I've written in here.

School
School is going very well. I love my classes. My Media Studies professor is very experienced and enthusiastic and the class is based around several interesting, "real-life" projects (you may just catch a familiar voice waxing poetic about the importance of staying active in the winter if you listen to WERS next week). Epidemiology/Biostatistics is very different, in both style and content, but no less interesting.

I am a bit overwhealmed by the work/school/life balance. It's nothing I can't handle, it's just a bummer to cut fun things out of my social life. For example, I know of not one but two opportunities to go away skiing the first weekend of March. However, I am starting to doubt whether I could do either of these as I have a midterm and paper critique due that next week, a case study due two weeks after that, I'm going to Florida in March, and I will probably be assigned my group media strategy project by then. Like I said, this is not the end of the world and it is what I signed up for. I just wish I had a few more hours in the day.

Music
I'm a bit late to the game on this one, but I have become OBSESSED with Regina Spektor. I bought one of her albums loved it so much that I bought another album the next day. It's like Patti Smith and Tori Amos had a love child! I've been listening to it incessantly since this weekend...

...with the exception of the new Bloc Party album, A Weekend in the City. It took me a few listens but I've grown to love it. It is not quite as good as Silent Alarm, but it is a solid sophomore effort (teehee that last sentence makes me sound like a tool)

Florida
I'm going to Florida March 15-20 to meet my parents at a place they are renting. It will be so nice to chill out and GO TO THE BEACH!!

Creativity
It dawned on me last night that I haven't picked up the ol knitting needles in 6 months and I never finished the pencil skirt I was working on sewing. Maybe I will try to squeeze in a little sewing time this weekend.

Body and Soul
I got myself in good shape this summer with running and I have completly let myself slip--I've gained almost 10 lbs since the peak of my running days. In addition to not running, I've also been eating like whoa.  I feel  heavy and lethargic and I really want to get back into the shape I was in last summer. I can't wait til it's warm enough to run outside again. In the meantime, I'm trying to make the most of my limited gym time. Jill at work is trying to convince me to do the weight watchers at work program that starts at teh end of February with her, and I'm thinking of giving it a go.I could use a jump start (and perhaps some lessons in portion control)and WW doesn't seem faddy or unhealthy. Time will tell, i supose. Have any of you ever done this program.
.Phew!
