actually the entries of this - my personal and private - blog are kept hidden from the public. Except the few public entries you may have seen by now.
This very entry you are reading right now marks an exception.
Because there are a few people I would like to read this.
Who are these people?
I know them as Genius_Sherlock, DrJohn_HWatson, Anthea_BGovt, TheBetterHolmes, MissCumberbatch, FabulousJim and MissMollyHooper.
It may get pathetic from now on (you have been warned!) but I decided that pathetic is ok when a year passes and the next and new one is to come in just a few hours.
They changed my life within 3 days.
I was given the chance to join their roleplaying game in Twitter, based on - who would have guessed - BBC's "Sherlock".
I haven't been playing for years and I still missed it from time to time. When I started to join and "tried on" my new alter ego it was... great. Just great. It felt absolutely comfortable.
With the "alter ego" nr. 2 (and let's name the fact: it is good ol' Detective Inspector Lestrade) I got an unexpected chance to learn.
I never considered myself to be a spontaneous person nor really a creative mind.
With him I had to be both from one moment to the other.
I had to come up with murders and crime scences, with evidences, suspects and poisonous plants. I had to work on my communication... for plotting in order to get the whole rough storyline right. And because you can't control what the other characters will do, I had to be spontaneous.
The things I came up with may not be the new master crimes, but I am learning and keeping myself busy (and entertained) with researches. My brain is running wild with ideas and impressions and all the things I want to read and learn and turn into great stories and bases for a nice "game in the evening" (don't be afraid. 90% of stupid ideas won't find their ways into the game. *winks*)
I may get a bit over enthusiast about the whole thing. Ehem.
And why am I writing all this?
To say "Thank you".
I may take it way too serious but without you all I wouldn't have had this great sleepless nights, the possibility to be another person for a couple of hours, the chance to try on another character and the contentedness of spontaneous ideas becoming a really enjoyable storyline, crime stories and finding ways to try to create tricky cases....oh and being an old lady or a man, of course.
I haven't been so happy in quite a while.
Even when I don't take part in a game and just read what you are doing, I am happy.
Thank you.
And with this I wish you a great start into 2012. Read you on the other side ;)
