Change is good, change is good, change is good- my new mantra. EVERYTHING IS CHANGING AND I AM TRYING TO KEEP UP!! The easy part was marrying Ben, big duh but now not only do I have a new husband, I am getting a new city, new job, potentially new degree.....I have to find new things to do, places to go, hopefully some new friends. I agree with Jenny! You're super adventurous! I feel overwhelmed too sometimes. But I'm (slowly) learning to just let go and trust that things work out. Expect good! It gets easier and easier, I promise. The thing that's helped me out a lot is being willing to consider any possibility or opportunity that arises. It feels safe to stick to the plan we had in mind, but a willingness to just let go and enjoy the ride makes the uncertainty a lot more fun....it begins to feel like Christmas. You don't know what's in the boxes, but you know it's going to be good! :) And I agree that Sac can feel super urban, but luckily you're close to some of the most amazing mountains! My parents live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. I went to high school (well for one year anyway) in Grass Valley. There are so many great places to get out into the mountains without having to drive too far :) Even just going up to Auburn, there are some great trails out there (and an awesome Vietnamese place called Bo's. You must go). Have you been to Nevada City? It's about an hour outside of sac and reminds me of Arcata. You and Ben should go up there and go for some hikes and then make sure to have breakfast at the South Pine Street cafe. It's delicious. Best. muffins. ever! Or Ike's. That's another great breakfast place. Let me know if you need any good suggestions for hikes!!! Oh and whitewater rafting on the American river!! That's fun too!
