An excerpt.
Draco crossed the room and hugged him to his chest. “I love you.” The blonde spoke softly. “And I missed you.”
It was obvious the one question he was avoiding. Where were you? And Harry was going to wait till his questions were answered before giving Draco any information as to his whereabouts.
“Wish I could say the same.” Harry said in a deadpanning tone.
Draco backed away. “Why can’t you?” His eyes had turned that peculiar shade of grey that Harry thought to be menacing.
As it was in question form, Harry really didn’t feel like answering. Instead, he made his way to the stairs.
“Harry!” Now, he was shouting.
“I’m not going to talk to you when you’re yelling.” He spoke softly, keeping his tone.
Draco looked to the ground, obviously frustrated. “I didn’t mean to yell.”
Harry raised his hand in the air. “I see now that matters seeing as you just did.” He muttered under his breath, but he knew Draco could hear it. “I’m tired, and right now, I feel like going to bed.”
The air in the room was breaking on frigid as Harry took soft steps up the stairs bypassing their bedroom in favor of the nearest guest room. Just moments later the air grew thicker when Draco followed him. The guest room door slammed behind him, and Harry jumped a little at the sound but didn’t let the surprise show on his face. He was curious as to what Draco was about to say. His boyfriend has his back pressed to the door, white knuckled fists at his side, and Harry could hear him huffing and puffing from clear across the room. His beautiful face was contorted into something stony and statuesque.
“We need to talk.” Harry marveled at how well Draco could control his voice.
“Talk.” The raven ground out, tugging off his shows and resisting the urge to throw them at Draco’s head.
“You’re angry for some reason or the other.”
Harry cocked his head. His was too angry to speak. They stood there facing each other.
The sound of footsteps broke both of them from their stupor. "Draco, dear, where are you?" She stopped as the door to their bedroom and pivoted to the guest room. Her manicured hand gave one knock before pushing passed Draco who was in too much of a stupor to hold his own to a pregnant woman. Her calculating eyes expertly identified the situation. "Trouble in paradise for the perfect couple?"
