Pass of the ports

Mmmmmmmmmbwah.

Spent all day running about town, instead of in classes. Today was double free though, so I didn't miss much. WAY too much backtracking for one day.

Hokay. Passport office had called a while ago saying there's a problem with my pictures. I schedule an appointment for some new photos today, have them taken at 10, head into the city. Waited an hour at the office. As it turns out, your replacement photos have to be signed by your confirmist. I swear a lot and head back to Bedford. Visit my doctor, wait about half an hour, she signs them, head back to Halifax. Another hour and a half of waiting later, I'm told I need to fill out a form consenting to the changes. The lady at the booth looks at my new photos (with my short hair and clean shaven face [donated the long hair to cancer last week BTW]) and the old photos with my long hair and some scruff, and begins insisting I'm not the same person. I'm pretty pissed at this point and I start speaking up a bit. This aggros the receptionist/guard, who comes over and asks what's going on. We explain to him, he recognizes me from earlier, and convinces her to let it go. She does, somewhat (she accepted the pictures, but not after checking my driver's license for a good fifteen minutes).

Best part of it all is that after all this fun, I had to pay thirty dollars to put my passport on the rush list, even though I submitted the initial forms nearly a month ago. Because they took three weeks to get back to me about how my smile was 'too big' (no teeth were showing, but appearantly I was smiling enough to distort my face), I have to pay a fee to have my passport processed in time for the band trip.

Government lag FTL.
