January 14, 2013, the first day of Hey Say JUMP's stage play. The show went on very smoothly. Tickets were sold out. All the 1600 seats were fully occupied for the 5 days performance at Japan National Theater. Limited to one performance per day, the overwhelming support really boost the group's spirit.
Yabu's singing received praise from all the critics. He managed to bring out the human side of the phantom, and make the audience empathize the character. The first time Yabu took off his phantom mask- the entire theater gasp. Despite the scar on his face, Yabu was still able to deliver the needed expression for his character. The wrath and the pain were realistically portrayed by the boy.
Critics also admires the scriptwriter's creativity by putting in significant plot twist in the original play. They added in a few new characters in the story line that remarkably made the entire production more entertaining. Inoo's piano accompany blends well with the play, not to mention how JUMP beautifully sings each of their parts. When Hikaru and Yamada turned up on stage with female dress- the audience grew wild. The short comedy relief made everyone laughed. Takaki as the lead protagonist was so charming and promising. Yuto and Keito's duet showcased their vocals- who knew that Keito's manly voice and Yuto high pitch notes would merge beautifully for the ears. Chinen and Daiki's stunts act mesmerized everyone.
"Kanpai!!!!!" everybody toasts as they hold their drinks in the air. This party is sponsored by the company to celebrate the completion of their stage play. The performance is a huge success- that producers have been approaching Mr. Johnny to turn the play into a movie.
"Isn't that great?!" Takaki screams excitedly, then drinks his 4th glass of champagne. "Finally, a chance to have a movie together! It's going to be awesome!"
"What if we make a musical movie?" Yuto suggests.
"Like High School Musical?" Keito asks.
Chinen shook his head. "No... Disney is better. You know, like Frozen!"
"Let it go.... Let it gooooo!!!!!!!!" Takaki, Daiki and Yamada spontaneously sing together when they hear the word 'Frozen'. Everyone in the hall laugh uncontrollably at their silly antiques.
Hikaru sips on his Cola. "Looks like the news gets them on high spirit."
"Well, they seem a bit tipsy to me," Yabu keeps staring at the boys who are now dancing to the music. "Need to keep our eyes open. We don't want any trouble here."
Yabu's serious reply makes Hikaru laughs.
"What?" Yabu frowns.
"Nothing," Hikaru put his Cola on the table. "I kind a miss that 'leader-like' answer."
"Is it bad?"
"No, it's actually really good. It shows that HSJ's Yabu Kota is back. Honestly speaking the members miss this part of yours you know."
Yabu chuckles. "I don't think they miss my nagging that much Hika."
"Trust me, they do. Yuto even said it's better to hear your nags than mine. That kid-"
"Maybe because yours tend to be an hour long."
"Really? I talked that much?"
"Sometimes," Yabu tries not to offend his boyfriend. "But you know how much I love your voice. I don't mind listening to them."
Hikaru pinches his boyfriend's cheek. "Sweet talking your way out as always huh?"
"That's the only thing I can do here. If we are alone there's a lot of other ways I can try."
Ryutaro giggles as he listens to Yabu and Hikaru's cheeky conversation. He eavesdrops their conversation since the past few minutes. It is nice to see Yabu returns to his normal self again- being the reliable big brother JUMP has been missing the last four months. The phantom mask has become Yabu's accessories and is well received by fans.
Inoo too, has become more energetic and confident with himself. He is no longer shy to show his affection towards Takaki. The pair is always together everywhere they go. The staffs are calling them twins, but JUMP knows they are in serious romantic relationship. Inoo's room has become vacant because the boy is now sleeping in Takaki's room. Inoo is also said to resume his studies soon- looks like the wind is in favour for the future architect.
The end of the play also indicates that Ryutaro's job as their 'manager' has come to the end. Ryutaro feels it is better for him to return to his parents' house to avoid further attachment to his former group. He admits it was fun spending the past 4 months with JUMP. He is very tempted to re-join the group. But he can't forget how awful it was when his career was abruptly terminated. Ryutaro can't live in the 'perfect idol world'- not after he has tasted the freedom from being a Johnny's.
"Are you really leaving?" Inoo suddenly sits next to the boy.
Ryutaro nods. "It's about time."
Inoo somewhat gives the 'disappointing' look. "I wish you could stay with us again."
"I'll come by now and then. I'll keep my watch on Yuyan while you are in university," the younger jokes.
Inoo laughs. "Well, I don't think there's a need for that. Do you know that Yuya plans to enroll in Meiji University?"
"Seriously??" Ryutaro's eyes widen. "That bakaki? Studying???"
"Yup, THAT bakaki."
"WOAH!!!! You two are really something!" Ryutaro says in disbelieve.
"What does that supposed to mean?"
"If you forgot you shaved your skin not long ago. Look at you now; free of delusions, back as an idol and the best part is- you are an advocate for mental health. Talking about being at rock bottom and climb your way back up. That is super impressive!"
"I wouldn't be able to make it without Yuya," Inoo honestly speaks. "Looking back, I was so stupid to ignore his feelings."
"Yeah... and then he suddenly wants to study- I need time to digest this information," Ryutaro makes the 'thinking' pose.
Inoo covers his mouth as he laughs. "He is quite good at memorizing things actually. He really took interest with my psychologist's work. Yuya read all the recommended books to upgrade his knowledge so that he can join our discussions in mental health forums."
"I know!! When I saw both of you on TV, I thought Yuyan was an impostor! He can actually say all those complicated medical jargons!!"
The two laugh simultaneously. Ryutaro is right, even Inoo himself couldn't believe Takaki's intelligence. The Takaki they know is the one goofing around happily- eating everything in front of him while playing the computer games. But this new Takaki is so cool- that when he put on the white doctor's coat in one of the forums Inoo almost lost himself. Takaki's handsome figure can cure any illness just by looking at him.
"What are you guys talking about?" Takaki walks towards the two.
"Nothing," Ryutaro nonchalantly replies. "We're just talking about how round your belly is now."
"Oh Ryu... you can try all you want. But tonight, I want to remain the 'cool' guy," Takaki smirks as he touches his collar.
Ryutaro raises his right eyebrow. "Cool??"
"That's right," Takaki runs his fingers through his thick hair. He later unbuttons the upper part of his shirt while licking his lips.
"All right that's enough!" Inoo quickly stops his boyfriend from further stripping in the middle of the party. "We should get going."
Hikaru stands up. "Agreed. I'll get everyone else."
"But we just got here..." Takaki tries to take another glass of drink on the side table, but Ryutaro was quick to stop him.
"I take back my statement. Bakaki is still bakaki!"
"Oiiiiii!!!!!!"
Inoo smiles as he brings Takaki next to him. "It's okay. He is MY bakaki," he kisses Takaki's cheeks.
Takaki just giggles in responds to Inoo's action. "I have been waiting for you to say that."
"That's it you two. Save it for later!" Hikaru can be heard shouting from afar. "Let's go home."
"Why don't you come with us Ryu?" Yabu asks.
"Not tonight Yabu-kun," Ryutaro politely turns down. "I have school trip tomorrow. I don't want to be late. JUMP house is quite far from my school."
"Ahhhh...... it won't be fun without you," Yuto put his hand on Ryutaro's shoulder. "It's still early. We can play games or watch movie with our new home theatre!"
"Yeah Ryu. Come with us! We have popcorn and pizza ordered," Keito invites the younger.
"It's all right, you guys go ahead. Besides, I have contacted my parents. They should be here any minute now. I still have curfew you know," Ryutaro points at his watch. "I'll come by on weekends."
"Then how about we go on a trip this weekend?" Yamada suggests. "Our schedule is still open right?"
"We don't have anything planned yet so far," Hikaru replies.
"That's a good idea," Daiki agrees. "We haven't had our group outing for ages! Let's reward ourselves!"
"It really is a good idea Yama-chan. I will talk to Johnny-san," says Yabu.
Yuto eagerly jumps around like a child. "Are we going to Australia again?? We are going to see koala??"
"If we want to bring Ryu we can't go that far!" Chinen shove Yuto's anticipation. "How about we go to onsen?"
"That is relaxing. Great suggestion Chii," Inoo pats Chinen's head while the shorter boy smiles proudly.
"Yes... it is great..." Takaki wraps his hand around Inoo's waist. "I do love getting naked with all of you."
"Ewwwwww....." all nine others makes the 'disgusted' face.
Ryutaro's cell phone vibrates. It's a text from his mother telling him that she has arrived.
"I need to go. My parents are here," he informs the rest.
Yabu walks towards Ryutaro and hugs him tightly.
"Thank you Ryu," the eldest releases his long hug. "You are such a loyal friend. Hey Say JUMP owes you big time."
"I only throws in the idea. JUMP made it feasible. You guys are amazing," Ryutaro compliments as he glances through each of the member's face.
"Whatever happens, JUMP's spirit will never die."

Ryutaro wakes up early that day. He takes his shower and put on his uniform, getting ready for his 2 days school trip.
Ryutaro immediately went to bed the moment he reached home last night. Fortunately, his mother helped him packed his belonging for the trip.
Finally, it is time to relax after the chaos. I am returning to my normal daily life.
The boy makes his way to the kitchen. As Ryutaro walks, he browses through HSJ's group chat- seems like the drunk Takaki made weird comments and all the other members were trolling him. They even gave Takaki mathematical questions in which the boy answered with gibberish equations and numbers. Drunk Takaki is always fun to fool around with.
Then there are series of pictures sent by Takaki, where he took selfies with each of the members inside their minivan with numerous hilarious poses. Everybody looks so happy and cheerful. The last picture shows Takaki trying to kiss an invisible man, tagged as 'my favorite brother Ryu."
"Bakaki," Ryutaro smiles. He can't wait to meet all of them again this weekend. The group outing will be a blast!
"Mum, dad," Ryutaro is shocked to see his parents sitting on the dining table. There are worries on their faces.
"Is everything all right?"
"Why don't you sit," his father pulls a chair and gestures Ryutaro to sit next to him.
Ryutaro obeys.
"Ryu... I want you to remain calm," his mother speaks in low tone. "You are not going to your school trip today."
"But why?" Ryutaro frowns. "You know how much I looked forward to this trip."
Mr Morimoto holds Ryutaro's hand. "We are going to the hospital."
"Why dad?"
Mr and Mrs Morimoto look at each other. "Hey Say JUMP..."
Ryutaro's heart is beating fast. "What happened to them?"
"Their minivan skidded on their way home last night. All of them are severely injured. And-"
"And what?"
Mr Morimoto gives a long exhale. "One of them didn't make it."
