Yabu looks around the empty house. KaT-TUN radical decision to leave that night makes him feel uneasy somehow. He feels like he is the one that create the problem. Akanishi won’t be fighting with his group members if it’s not because of him.
He stares blankly at the kitchen from the living room where he is sitting. The lonely atmosphere makes him realized that it has been a while since he last spent time with JUMP.
Who is cooking with Yama-chan in the kitchen now? Did they remember to wake Keito in the morning? Who is helping Ryutaro when Takaki plays prank on him? How did Inoo perform in his exam? Who’s assisting Chinen with his homework? And yes, Dai-chan is having his entrance exam next week. Does his preparation go well?
And Hikaru’s headache seems like it is getting worst. Will he be all right? Damn! What’s wrong with me?
Yabu hate himself being the way he is now. It is not like he hates the boys- no, he will never feel that way. It’s just he feel so embarrass to face them with them knowing what happen between him and Hikaru. He feels like a loser, he can never face them anymore. Left alone Hikaru. Yabu wishes he can go back in time and stop himself from confessing to the boy he love, so that they can talk to each other again without having this awkward feeling.
Yabu loves Akanishi, maybe. Or perhaps he is doing this just to show Hikaru that he always have another choice other than the boy. Yabu enjoys Akanishi’s accompany; he has been so nice to him. Akanishi always make sure that Yabu feels comfortable. Being pampered all the time is like in heaven. But after a few days Yabu feel bored with it. This is not what he wants. Yabu can’t help himself from wondering about his ‘kids’.
“What are you thinking about Ko-chan?” Akanishi approaches from behind. “Are you ready?”
Yabu nods, tailing the older boy to the front door. “Ne Jin-kun, don’t you want to search for your friends?”
“There’s no need for that,” Akanishi puts on his boots. “They’ll come home once their anger stops. After all they have no right to force me like that.”
“So you are determined about it.”
Akanishi looks at Yabu with a smile. “Yes, I am going to leave KAT-TUN and move to the States. I am sure about it,” Akanishi holds Yabu’s hand tight. “Will you come with me?”

It is 2 am, March 31st 2010. Yuto opens the front door and enters the house, followed by Daiki and Inoo. They are surprised to see the crowded living room. Takaki, Ryutaro, Taguchi and Nakamaru are lying on the comforter, while Keito, Chinen, Kame, Ueda and Koki dispersed on the couches.
“Wow, I didn’t know that we are getting new members,” Daiki whispers. “Fifteen of JUMP? We won’t need any back-dancers from now on.”
“Let’s try not to wake these people up,” Yuto tip-toeing to the stairs.
“Okaeri,” Kame slowly stands up, carefully putting Chinen’s head down on the sofa.
“Gomen! We didn’t mean to wake you up,” Inoo apologizes.
Kame walks towards the three boys. “It’s ok, I wasn’t really sleeping after all. We’ve been waiting for you guys all night. How’s Hikaru?”
“Let’s go to the kitchen,” Daiki leads the way. “Whoa!” he is surprised to see the well-made food on the table. “Did Takaki cook all this?”
Kame laughs. “We cook all this together. Poor boys left alone with raw fish and didn’t know what to do with them. And sorry, we suddenly crashed in JUMP house.”
Kame tells his side of the story to Yuto, Inoo and Daiki. The three boys nod.
“We don’t mind you guys staying here, as long as you people don’t mind sharing rooms with us,” Daiki explains.
“Arigato!” Kame humbly bows to his kohei. “And yes, how Hikaru’s doing? Did the surgery goes well?”
Yuto throws a long breath. “Well, he’s stable for now. It’s not really a surgery. The doctors sort of dig a hole on the right side of his head and drains out some blood.”
“Apparently he has been falling several time- of course we didn’t know about it- and the repetitive injury caused multiple minor bleeding which accumulate in his skull,” Daiki continues.
“And today’s injury when he fell from the stage gave the biggest blow and increased the pressure in his head, causing more intense headache and seizure,” Inoo finishes.
“Poor Hikaru-kun,” Yuto tries not to cry.
Kame stares at the sad-looking boys. “Come on, don’t be so down! Now that the blood is gone Hikaru should be fine right?” he tries to cheer up the boys.
Yuto shakes his head. “The blood is nothing. Kamenashi-kun, Hikaru-kun is dying.”
Kame sits down in shock. “What are you people talking about?”
Inoo takes out a paper from his sling-bag. “Glioblastoma multiforme,” he reads out. “An aggressive brain tumor, usually people with this disease doesn’t show any symptoms until the tumor become enormous in size, in which curative treatment is close to impossible. This explains Hikaru-chan’s change in personality, and his forgetfulness,” Inoo hands the printed papers to Kame who is still unable to accept the news. “The doctors print this information sheets for us.”
Kame flips over the papers one by one. The word ‘fatal’ and ‘palliative care’ disturbs him so much. He finds it difficult to believe what he is hearing; he couldn’t imagine how those boys might have been feeling when they first-handedly hear this awful news from the doctors. Yet the boys look calm, and obviously trying their best to be strong.
“Did Hikaru know about this?” Kame asks.
Inoo nods. “He started feeling unwell earlier this year, so he went to the hospital for check up. His health report was finalized about a month ago, that’s when I followed him to the restaurant. He asked me to keep this secret, I foolishly agreed to him and he…he… became worst..” Inoo covers his face which starts to get wet from his tears. “Gomen, it was entirely my fault! I should have told you guys and we can take care of him together! I was so stupid! I thought I can do it alone!”
Daiki hugs the distraught Inoo. “Stop blaming yourself Inoo-chan. It’s not your fault at all. The fault is ours. We were not sensitive enough to notice that he was in pain,” he tries to calm the crying boy.
“And we didn’t do anything when he was scolded. We are useless!” Yuto hits the table.
Kame is so touched to see those boys comforting each other, taking the blame from one to another. He could feel the love within the members, the love that has been missing from his own group. It is true when people say that’s children’s hearts are the most pure amongst all- they love unconditionally, and they care sincerely.
KAT-TUN was once like this, however the loving atmosphere disappears when Akanishi left the group four years ago. The members somehow coped with it, but once they were able to accept the fact that KaT-TUN is a five-member group, Akanishi suddenly come back, unashamedly asking to get into the group again. Considering their friendship, KaT-TUN became KAT-TUN once more.
That is why when Akanishi suddenly decide to leave the group Nakamaru, Ueda, and Koki became so angry. Even the happy-go-lucky Taguchi feels like he is being betrayed. Akanishi makes the old wound bleeds again, and it is deeper this time. They had a big fight in KAT-TUN house with Yabu witnessing it. It ended up with them leaving the house tonight, and here they are in JUMP house.
“Shikarishte!” Kame tries to give some strength to the boys. “It’s not the end just yet. We still have hope! Your senpai is here. We’ll help you guys through all this. And if anyone can make it through, it’s JUMP. I believe in that!”
Inoo wipes his tears. The short encouraging speech from his senpai eases his burden a little bit. “Gomen, I am such an emotional person.”
“It’s ok Inoo. Crying is not a sin. There are times when we need them. Cry all you want, and when you are done steps forward- crush all the hurdles,” Kame walks around the dining table to get Inoo and pats his shoulder. “In this case, we are going to change our sorrow to courage, and we will help Hikaru through all this.”
Yuto, Daiki and Inoo stand up, looking straight at their senpai. “Arigato Kamenashi-kun!” they bow together.
“Doitashimahite,” Kame returns the bow. “You guys must be tired. Go get your rest. And we will talk to the others tomorrow. Takaki had informed Johnny-sama about it. He’ll visit Hikaru, and you'll need to discuss about your mini concerts with him.”
The three boys make their way to the stairs. Just when they are about to climb the staircase Yuto stops.
“Should we tell Yabu-kun?”
