The original topic of this night was:

dont you hate it when someone is all "and thus we arrive, obviously, at the age old dilemma of [something]."

[something] being an idea which has sort of drifted around the periphery of your consciousness and, occasionally, when confronting and applicable instance of interpretation or acknowledgement, arisen.

but the way they express and posit this claim makes you feel sort of dumb, like everyone is already in on this and has thought about it WAY more than you, even though you thought you were kind of clever (maybe), or at least perceptive for noticing it on your own.
