I made a new dessert for Christmas dinner this year:
Double Chocolate Torte Man, was it awesome. Normally I don't love a dessert I baked myself - my tastebuds don't work right, or something.
This was to die for.
The bottom cake layer was dense, moist, and like a quality brownie. The mousse layer was very rich and creamy. I put the whipped cream on; I skipped the currants and the glaze, but put raspberries on individual slices (my brother's anti-fruit).
Just, wow. You like to bake? You like chocolate cake? This is the cake to make. The best news is that you can make it at least a day ahead of time.
I want to have a dinner party just so I can make it again...
