"Insert catchy phraseology here"

So, four weeks (about?) into South Beach, I'm down 10 pounds (and from what carbon_scoring tells me, at least an inch everywhere that matters). This makes me happy. I really believe this is the right diet for me, especially compared to Weight Watchers. The WW point system is great, but it's too easy to cheat, and even easier to waste your points on food that doesn't do anything except make you want more of it. (Yes, honey wheat pretzels of doom, I'm looking at YOU.) That being said, I'm not really being as good about adding in fruit and whole grains as I should, and I really need to start exercising -both of which will be interesting.

I expect it will be a difficult weekend, what with birthday celebrations and all, but dude. Ten pounds! Four weeks! That's incentive, baby.

In other less dull news, Star Wars continues apace. I'm enjoying the dancing immensely, even though I'm much less coordinated than all the other dancers. It's also tough to practice at home, what with the living on the second floor thing. But I shall persevere. Closest thing to a workout I'm getting right now. And props are fun. I really, really like building props. Finding the bits, putting them together, and making them look cool makes me happy. I get a ridiculously disproportionate sense of satisfaction out of them. The Pirelli bottles and the birdcage in Sweeney made me almost as happy as nailing "Worst Pies in London" did. (Oh, and it looks like Master Replicas is coming through with another sabre - possibly even a green one, depending on how US availability matches with our dates! Oh frabjous day, calloo callay!)

And, you know what else? Les Liaisons is looming. I had to write up character descriptions and be a director again. It's been over a year since I directed anything except an envelope. I have a costumer (the lovely wendyhouse), but I need, among other things, a set designer, a stage manager, a lighting designer, and ... a cast! Audition information for the interested is here. I'm both terrified and excited. I saw Hovey's production of Beauty Queen of Leenane, which was wonderful. They had some marvelous talent both on and offstage. It's a lot to live up to, plus there's that production of Liaisons at that other little theatre.

Wow. I just actually read that. Michael Weiss as Valmont! Excuse me while I go all squeeing fangurl for a moment. ("Pretender! Days of Our Lives! He's so hot! Squeeee!"). OK. I'm back. And even more freaked out.
