My gg-grandmother and her 3.

Here's something weird. Just for kicks, I was taking yet another look at the 1910 census record that contains my widowed gg-grandmother and her son. This one says she came over in 1874; OK, others say 1876, and I've been going with that, so good to know. But it doesn't just say she's widowed; in the how-long-married column, there's a 3.

What can that 3 mean? She was widowed in 1891, so I might understand an 18 or 19. Nothing's ever been said about her remarrying, and she still bears her first husband's name. What can have happened in 1907 that's so worthy of remembrance?
