No pictures, because by the time the snowflakes got to the bench or my coat sleeve they were tiny ice shavings quickly melting. But I was sitting at a different waffle place today, one closer to the vet's office where I buy cat food and litter, and I saw them coming down. At first I thought maybe the bar upstairs was blowing bubbles as they sometimes do, but I saw and remembered the wind.
Last night the wind was blowing fiercely; I could hear it shake the windows. I've stopped taking the sleeping aid except on rare occasions, blaming it in part for the two spills I've had lately, so things can wake me up in the night now. I don't mind--I knew I could sleep in today and still get most things done. On schedule so far, at 1 in the afternoon. But strong winds like that mean the weather is shifting and since it's been dry and bitter cold lately that is a good thing. The Indian winds are coming in, the Siberians going out. Not a scientific description which would likely be "high pressure" and all that, I just like this better. It makes more sense to me, like Santa Anas and seabreezes. But the wind blew and blustered last night and it was cold today but moist, which feels warmer than Siberian/desert dry.
Wherever I go next August, it will be near a beach, I'm determined. Though the dentist knows of a beach on the east coast up here that's accessible by bus, must write down its name and search for it. (It is so nice to have a Korean professional who can make conversation! I'm not the chat-with-the-hairdresser type, bad history there and I'm an introvert anyway, but someone to talk me through novocaine is nice. I've had enough dental work to know how to cope with it, but I still don't enjoy it. Although I really must tell the kinksters that I still don't get it about that one device, it's a lot more comfortable than it looks.)
I ramble. Coffee. I look forward to Delphi's coffee tomorrow, my day of rest, as I've had instant and chain store stuff for most of the week. Quality espresso, it is so underrated.
Did get pictures at the b-boy show last night. It's so retro to me, remembering the breakdancing fad of the 80's and seeing that with one or two innovations it really hasn't changed. Heck, the music even sounds 70's! But you can't argue with those sixpacks, those inversions, those gymnastics. These guys and girls were beautiful to watch. I hope they're keeping up with their checkups though, because some of that neckwork and those spins are quite dangerous. Will post...notice I'm never in a hurry to post pictures?
Hooked the old 80gig harddrive back up with the wrecked one's plugs and it's working pretty well. The dental bill has shot my budget this month--though the school insurance may reimburse, since it was on school property. Most annoying though, as I had plans for that money.
A couple more places on the web to check before I maybe take a nap. 12 hours in bed doesn't feel like it was enough! It's been a very taxing week, and I've still got two or three items on my to-do list, the last of which is to add the neon to the tattoo. I'm going to have to stay home tomorrow if I'm going to have any energy at all.
Don't forget
Kevin.
