for once in his life, silver was home. he felt well rested, surprisingly looking forward to the day. the house was quiet, which was actually kind of strange considering that there was almost always someone up and about when he was last home. if not those grunts of his, giovanni was roaming around, grumbling to himself about his incompetent men.
he supposed that today wasn't one of those days and decided to enjoy the silence.
gathering several things in the kitchen, he picked something simple for breakfast: a bowl of cereal and milk with a glass of orange juice on the side. simple and quiet. just the way he liked it.
unfortunately, fate had other plans.
he froze. the cereal in his spoon plummeted back down into his bowl with a soft splash, marring his black pajamas. he stared and stared, hoping to arceus or whatever higher being was up there to tell him his eyes were playing jokes on him.
the woman, an esteemed gym leader just a few years older than he was, sat before him as if there was nothing wrong. "could you pass the - " she paused, seeing his reaction. a raised brow. apparently, she didn't think that anything was wrong at all.
silver didn't react, still staring at her in disbelief.
"nevermind." she muttered, levitating the jug of milk and allowing it to pour into her bowl. the woman didn't at all seem bothered to have left his father's room with nothing but his nightshirt on. it wasn't even fully buttoned! it was barely covering her; he could see her - arecus were those marks?
stopthinkingaboutit.stopthinkingaboutit.
things didn't get better after his father finally left his room. the same place where she had come from. he greeted them both good morning, and, like she, he didn't see anything wrong with this scene.
he looked at his shirtless father and then back to sabrina. both of them appeared confused, not at all understanding the awkwardness he was feeling. "something wrong?" "?" they both sounded oddly concerned.
he continued staring.
and then it clicked.
from there, the two of them managed to keep eerily calm as they did before. although, silver could swear that he could see them flush as they explained themselves.
"..."
... it seemed that the two weren't used to having silver back home.
he wanted to bash his head on the table. instead, he left his things where they were and headed back to his room. along the way, he could hear giovanni comment, "don't worry, he'll get over it eventually."
maybe he should have never gone for breakfast. or home for that matter.
