Anyway, the movie follows legendary DC radio dj and morning host Ralph Waldo "Petery" Greene. Greene (Cheadle) is an ex-con with an outspoken style who promises to always be truthful. Ejiofor plays the station programming director who helps get him on the air in the first place. And then becomes his manager as Greene moves on to stand-up, television and so on. Both are as riveting as normal. Plus you get Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Sheen and Taraji P. Henson in memorable roles...
One of the strongest sequences is right after Dr. King's murder and the riots in DC that followed. Also the movie has the normal biopic trope. Where in the third act you have that moment of self-destruction. Something I honestly don't enjoy watching anymore. But they manage to put just enough of a twist on it to make it different and watchable...
