First off this is a gorgeous looking movie. Grandiose alien vistas and visions that evoke a real sense of wonder. And secondly the cast are a hell of a bunch of actors. Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce and a truly exceptional job from Michael Fassbender as David the Robot. And sure the science is pretty stupid and at times

The film would be greatly improved by breaking the second before Idiot Boyfriend took off his helmet.
