I went in expecting an non-action espionage piece and instead I got what I'd call a character study. Luckily its a very good character study. Clooney is very much the draw here, balancing the desperate loneliness of Jack/Edward with his paranoia and cynicism. The rest of the movie is nice enough, full of better than average European actors I've never heard of. Also some gorgeous shots of small Italian towns...
