I'm counting ads in this week's comics. IDW's Angel: 11 house ads all at the back, 1 ad for a Joe Hill horror novel on the back cover. 18 main story pages + 4 back-up story pages. $3.99
DC/Vertigo: Secret Six: 12 non-house ads for movies and video games. Including a two-page spread in the middle of the comic, including both inside covers and the back cover. Last page has the DC Nation page and publisher info. 22 story pages. $2.99
The Unwritten and Daytripper replace two of the regular ads with Vertigo house ads and DC Nation with Vertigo voices. Looks to be the same number of 22 story pages. $2.99 each
Marvel: S.W.O.R.D., 22 story pages, a recap page and a coming next full page. 10 house ads if you count the four for clothes with Marvel characters. 2 regular ads. $2.99
Both Marvel and DC put the ads all thru their comic, interrupting the story flow...
As for the stories themselves just a few quick thoughts. I'm loving cranky, bad-ass Lockheed in S.W.O.R.D.. And I've been looking over Waller's previous appearances; Suicide Squad, Checkmate, Justice League International, etc. And yeah she's total hard-core, giant brass ones The Wall and everything. And when it comes to reactive planning she is tops. But long-term strategy she and Gyrich have a lot in common...
The Unwritten goes much darker than I was expecting there. I mean, damn. And I think I'm starting to see where Ba/Moon are going with daytripper. Maybe...
