A heavy pull this week, probably because of there being no Diamond shipment next week. Because they're lazy..
First up is Jack of Fables. Which in fact has no original Jack, just Jack Frost, the Son of Jack. In what seems like some kind of pulp sci-fi/barbarian setting. Very Barsoom or Buck Rogers...
Then its a double invasion in Invincible. Some crazy, green space lady looking to steal the Earth's energy at the same time as the Sequids burst from the sewers...
Criminal: The Sinners is still just perfect noir on every level. Lawless continues hunting for whoever is killing Hyde's people...
Oh thank fuck they changed artists on Avengers: The Initiative. Plus tie-in's to "The Siege" which is the thing following "Dark Reign" which was the thing after "Secret Invasion" and blah blah blah don't care. Also why is the Mandrill alive again? Even for comics this dude just does not stay dead...
Guardians of the Galaxy is also a follow-up crossover with "Realm of Kings" except I actually care somewhat about what happens here. The Guardian's bit invovles the remains of the Universal Church, a nasty tentacley other thing and a sad lack of talking dog...
I wasn't expecting a new Knights of the Dinner Table. Nitro's big D-Day war-game story wraps up and its shown that it involves gamers at cons around the world playing their side. I do wonder if German gamers would actually be willing to play the Nazis...
Sadly Beasts of Burden is over with the Wise Dogs taking on a resurected warlock and some earth golems. But there are enough dangling plot-hooks that I'm hopefull that Dorkin and Thompson will be back soon enough to these characters...
And lastly I grabbed a Buffy-related one-shot.BtVS: Willow meant to serve as a bridge for Willow between S7 and S8. Sadly Joss presents a bunch of new Beings & Powers and goes way to light on explinations on what any of it means. Gorgeous Joan Chen cover though...
