You always knew, deep down, that I was evil!

Get Your Cyborg Name

This made me laugh.  The question is, do I efficiently repair those I've killed?

RL has calmed down, somewhat.  Work is still busy, but I at least have room to breathe (and blog) now.

I've been on a bit of a chick-lit frenzy in my odd free moment of the last week or two, and I've generally enjoyed the mindless pleasure of it all.  Sophie Kinsella's new book was a particularly good read.  I am currently reading 'The Starter Wife' by Gigi Levangie, which is about a forty-something woman dumped by her Hollywood-producer husband, who then goes on to date Britney Spears.  Its fairly enjoyable, but I have a question for my US Flistees:  is 'Mercedeses' really the accepted plural of 'Mercedes'?  It was one of the (many) things that annoyed me in 'The Da Vinci Code' and thought it was a typo that had been missed.  To me it seems clunky, and it interrupts the flow.

I have a growing pile of books that I'm waiting to read - the latest Dean Koontz, War and Peace, Gaudi Night, Dante's Inferno - so I am hoping for a nice, quiet weekend in which to make a start.  At the moment, it is looking like I might get my wish.  P wants to go out on the jetski tomorrow morning, but we'll be back by lunch time, and then the afternoon is mine, apart from cleaning the bathrooms.  Oh the joys of domesticity!

Myler, the latest feline addition, is a strange little animal.  I already knew that Devon Rex like to be warm, but even on the hottest nights he sleeps under the bed covers with us.  And he likes bare skin.  I've never known a cat to lie on my bare stomach, under the duvet, to sleep before.  He purrs away, happy as Larry, until one of the other cats move, then he's off to see what he's missing.  In the morning, he sits outside the bathroom crying until he's let in.  He tries to scale my legs when I'm brushing my teeth, or generally doing anything that doesn't give him my full attention.  He really is high maintenance, but such a lovely cat that you forgive him the bleeding scratches.  I never did like skirts much, anyway.
