This won't be the greatest comment because I'm ill and don't have the headspace to really think deeply right now, but I want you to know I always appreciate these analyses of yours. Thoughts exactly like these have been going through my head since the episode. I find the most interesting parts of the episode to be, of course, the theme of these subconscious desires and inclinations, inner emptiness (such as that of a black hole, I'd presume), and of course, Taub's little predicament. I know you don't like Taub, but I do. I'm not going to argue, but I believe he's a parallel to Wilson's character

Thanks so much for your insightful and eloquent comment--and for taking the time to write even though you were ill, we really appreciate it!
I absolutely agree: House perceives each of Wilson's affairs and marriages as cheating, which is why he always tries so hard to drive his love-interests away, the sooner the better, and of course Taub is meant to be a parallel to Wilson (though, sorry, sorry, so much less interesting and well-rounded as a character, imho. And why creating a mini-me of Wilson anyway? Why copy a character down to the teapot-stance?), which also explains in a twisted way why House is so fascinated with Taub's marriage and wants to fix it.
I don't really want to dwell too much on what will happen to House & Wilson when Sam Carr turns up...Nothing beautiful is allowed to last.
After lovely scenes like the ones we saw in "Black Hole" it will be even more heartbreaking to see them fall apart because of some woman who won't be right for Wilson anyway.
Great minds think alike. :-) Thanks for commenting! Yes, Wilson's office is really worth a closer look, he's also got all kinds of interesting things on his shelves.

And yes, knowing what's coming is ten times more heartbreaking in lieu of this episode.
Cruel, cruel TPTB!

And yes, you're right: It will be absolutely devastating... Sigh.
