Never put much stock in enemies. If I ever made any, I can't say I'm aware of it. Now business is another thing. So I guess my greatest business adversary is Proudfoot Tractors, Inc. out a Fort Worth. They're a pretty big company an' growin', startin ta infringe on my sales. They're owned by one of them reds, an Indian, Native 'Merican, or whatever they want ta be called this week. He's a hard-assed SOB, too, like my daddy. I don't have any real quarrels with Winston Proudfoot himself, though. His business practices are fair enough, but he gets the advantage of the big city advertisin' since he's in Fort Worth. I know for a fact his maintenance crew ain't the best, though, 'cause he hired on a couple a the workers we fired for bein' lazy and incompetent. I bet 'cause he can pay 'em less than what good workers cost these days. Like I say to clients, you get what you pay for. Sooner or later his clients are bound to realize it and go for the competition. An' I really ought to start advertisin' in Forth Worth.
