LuRe Big Bang 2012 is now OVER!
*hands you tissues*
No more crying, because this month has been chock full of amazing writing and art, right?!
This past month we have been honoured and privileged to have fics written and art made for stories about Luke and Reid. That fact that almost over two years on, the love and admiration for this couple is alive and kicking is something wonderful. We are all so lucky to have such amazing people in the fandom who are willing to keep their love alive.
Tis truly a wonderful thing!
There shall be a masterpost uploaded, as well as a PDF book made by the absolutely amazing aljc100 shortly and that shall be posted up in due course. But now to the important part!
Firstly, a huge and massive and ginormous THANK YOU go to the writers and artists and betas. Without you, there would be no Big Bang, without you, there would no amazing stories or the vision to go with it. Without you, we wouldn't be able to see Luke and Reid put through different trials and tribulations based in canon, in different universes, in alternate worlds where they deal with the unimaginable but what stays the same is their love for one another and that these two always, always find each other. Thank you for giving Luke and Reid a new lease of life, a way for us to keep them alive in our hearts for a long time to come.
No Big Bang challenge can happen without the authors and the artists who take out the time out of their own busy and hectic lives to gift us with their talent. Also a thank you to those who fought so hard to get their stories done on time but were unable to. Just because you didn't post for the challenge, it doesn't in anyway diminish your effort or the time you spent on crafting your story. We can only hope that one day, you will get to post your story and will be able to share it with all of us...we shall keep our fingers crossed!
So, thank you, thank you, thank you for making this year a success!
Secondly, a massive thank you to the readers without whom this challenge would pretty much die a grisly death, lol. Writers write but without the reader, what fun is it? Thank you all for being amazingly patient, for being quick readers and for leaving excellent comments for those who have written their stories and for the incredible art that has received such adoration. Without you readers, this challenge would be pointless but you guys have a huge hand in keeping this fandom alive so thank you all for your voracious reading skills!
If you have been reading but have not commented on the stories, do us a favour and please leave those authors/artists a quick thank you if you can! Just a small token of gratitude to an author/artist for their contribution to the challenge can make a massive difference to someone's day! Take my word for it! ;)
Last but not the least, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to the wonderful traciamc without whom this challenge would've been impossible to handle. She has, without doubt, thrown herself into the fandom (willingly, totally willingly! :P) and given her heart and soul into making sure that we, as a fandom, get to enjoy every single thing about LuRe, she's been a major part of making sure that we get to keep our boys alive. Without her it would've been impossible to coordinate the challenge alone. I don't know how she managed last year but she is honestly a true trooper. There is nothing she hasn't done for this fandom and so, I don't even know if thank you is big enough a word...but I shall say it anyway. Thank you, Traci, for all you do and have done for this fandom.
