I'm French so I know nothing about baseball, half of the time I had no idea what you were talking about but it didn't stop from enjoying the story
I never thought about the journalist/player conflict of interest, in Europe it's not only a problem , a football ( soccer^^ ) player kissed his girl while she was interviewing after he won the World Cup ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Oe7UvxPtDQ so so so cute )
I loved the ending when he kissed him in front of everyone after the game, I was so frustrated when he thought it was a dream, anyway I went through a thousand emotions yesterday, I think at some point I was yelling at my computer , not sure :p
