Chapter Summary: Hearing.

A/N: Very short.
In the morning Reid talked less than normal and Luke knew better than to push him. They went to the hearing, both dressed in suits and ties. The whole thing was a bit of a blur to Reid. He fought for his case using a lot of Luke’s words that he had prepared on the journey to Dallas, the hearing ended in Reid being told he would be receiving a phone call within five days stating whether or not he has their support.
Reid tried not to let it bother him, but he hated the uncertainty. Everything in his life was structured and planned before he arrived in Oakdale, before he met Luke Snyder and his world was shaken up. Such big drama in such a small town. Three days had passed before Reid heard from the board. He and Luke had decided to have an “early night”. The pair were in Reid’s bed kissing lazily when is phone started buzzing on the bedside table.
“Answer it Reid,” Luke murmured into Reid’s lips, Reid just kissed him in reply. This time Luke pulled back further, “Answer it.”
Reid sighed, he knew it was the board and was apprehensive to answer the call. He leaned over Luke to get his phone, took a deep breath and answered. Luke couldn’t hear the person on the other side of the phone, and Reid wasn’t giving away anything with his face blank. He ended the call with a “thank you”. Luke looked at him expectantly, as they both shuffled into their previous positions facing each other, noses almost touching. Reid spoke quietly his facial expression unchanging, “They said if they receive a complaint about us… they’ll support me,” Luke grinned impossibly widely, Reid couldn’t help smiling back, “We have nothing to worry about.”
“Oh my god! That’s great!” Luke said enthusiastically before just as enthusiastically kissing Reid.
An hour and a half later both men were spent and Luke was pressed to Reid’s side with an arm over his bare chest. “You should sell this place.”
“What?”
“You’re definitely staying in Oakdale now right? Nothing’s stopping you.”
As they fell asleep that night Reid really thought about what Luke had said. Was this it for him?
