It took Luke about 25 minutes to pick out what he was going to wear to dinner tonight. Of course he had no idea where they would even wind up eating because most places were closed, so he settled on a pair of jeans (that hugged him in all the right places) and a green button down shirt that made his hazel eyes pop. The fact that the shirt also showed every muscle in his arms was just an added bonus. Luke then proceeded to spend about 35 minutes on his hair.
Mental note Luke. Whenever you get home, it’s time for a haircut.
Home. Luke hadn’t thought about home since he woke up this morning. It had been a pretty busy day and for the first time in the past week and a half he went longer than 30 minutes without thinking about Noah. He wondered what he was doing today. Noah doesn’t have any family. He always spent the holidays with his.
What if he’s alone? Maybe I should call him? Tell him he’s still welcomed at the farm?
No, Luke thought to himself. Noah broke up with him. He didn’t want Luke or his support anymore. Thinking about it was just a waste of time. Instead he decided to make his way back to the hospital. He had a date to get to. Wait, did I just say date?

When Reid finished drying himself off after his shower, he began pulling his clothes on. He couldn’t help but smile after he pulled his black sweater over his head. Today had actually been a good day. He hadn’t held a scalpel in his hands all day, but his arch nemesis did cry twice and one of those times he was witness to. Well, that one he actually caused. God I love myself. The other time was earlier in the day and that one was caused by a Mr. Luke Snyder. The same man Reid was meeting in 15 minutes for dinner. He’s cute. He’s obviously attracted to me. But then again, who isn’t? He’s obviously loaded. That could be good and bad though, but he did just get out of a relationship. Reid wasn’t really quite sure what to think of the young man, but he did know that it had been nearly three hours since he last ate and he could already feel his stomach growling again. Reid was definitely not looking for a relationship. He’s just not that kind of a guy, but if Luke needed to take out some of his frustrations and fuck somebody to make himself feel better……well, Reid normally never volunteered to help anybody, but in this case he’d make an exception.
Reid’s definition of “it’s been awhile” was more like “it’s been a week.” The past month has been torture. He hasn’t had sex the entire time he’s been in town. The last time it had been that long was probably right when he got out of med school. Reid quickly discovered that if he was going to be the best, all of his attention would have to be towards work, so he sacrificed in all the other areas of his life. He mainly kept to himself. When he wasn’t at work at the hospital, he was usually at home watching TV or sleeping. Sometimes if it had been a stressful day he’d go out and get a drink, but it was always by himself, and once a week he allowed himself to actually converse with people. Well, converse with them long enough to get sex out of it. There were a few times over the years that Reid slept with the same person more than once, but these people always wound up expecting things that Reid could never seem to give them, nor did he want to. If he was lonely, he never showed it. Instead he carried on being his normal snarky self. People didn’t like him that much, but it worked out because he didn’t like them either.
Reid strolled down to the cafeteria near the atrium where he knew Luke would be. His eyes fell on the blonde whose face lit up when he saw him. Reid noticed his hands started to sweat again. Seriously, what the hell is that?
“Hi”, said Luke.
“Hi.”
Luke suddenly felt a little shy and his cheeks flushed. “Are you ready to go?” he asked.
Reid couldn’t help but notice that Luke was staring at him with widened eyes. Holy shit. Channing was right. He is Bambi. Or maybe that cat off of Shrek. The one with the cute little boots. Not that Reid would ever admit to having seen it of course, but after peering into those wide eyes and wiping his sweaty palms on his jeans he slowly gulped and was able to respond. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” And with that they walked outside.
“Oh, so on my way to the hospital, I searched on my phone and there is a tiny Indian restaurant right down the street here that’s open.” Luke notices the look on Reid’s face. “Let me guess, you don’t like Indian.”
“I’ve never actually had it before. I’m more of a Chinese takeout person myself.”
“Come on”, Luke said as he dragged Reid up the street by his arm. “Everyone should experience everything at least once in their life.”
