I love the idea of Carly and Luke talking about their alcoholism. I wish these kinds of scenes happened on this show and other soaps today - but soaps really don't do this kind of thing like they used to. And I wish that we got to see more of Luke's life outside of his relationships with boyfriends - though of course I liked the Reid and Luke interaction you wrote too. NIcely done.

Thank you for your comment. I would love to see more of Luke's life on screen as an adult and I think if the show hadn't been cancelled we might have seen him take a larger role. It says a lot about Van when he shines in the short scenes he does get though.

Okay so this may be my favorite fic EVER. I adore Carly, and all things Carjack and they are the reason I started watching ATWT in the first place. So Lure and Carly/Carjack in one story is amazing.

Thanks! Theirs are usually the only storylines I keep up with nowadays. CarJack just draws you in don't they? Even when they are apart and beaten down and hurt, they're still connected in the most powerful ways.

I never even thought about Luke and Carly talking about their alcoholism. I mean, they are family, both went through it... I'm surprised this hasn't come about sooner. So glad you wrote this <3 I just love it.

Yeah, I can't believe they didn't connect the two in some way when Carly was drinking, such as having Luke recognize the signs etc. It shows how well developed CarJack's background is when they have their little sayings and mementos which mean so much. Thanks for you comment!

I found this very interesting and beautiful. It makes me yearn for Luke/Carly scenes. I loved their conversation, and their connection was palpable.

It was enjoyable to read Luke so lovingly written. He shone with his vulnerability and empathy.

Loved the Reid/Luke ending! Sweet. And this thought of Reid's made me smile:
Even the waitress smiles as she takes his order and walks away. Does he scare no one in this town anymore?

Thank you for your very kind words. I wish we could see Luke/Carly interactions but they never really have a reason to talk :-(
