Author's Note: It's a little short.
It's a little on the short side. I haven't had much time to write, been working and got a new computer.
Reid had very few regrets in his life. He was happy with himself and his life. Up until now. He stood still and tense with Luke's arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders, he could feel the man's grin against his neck. After Luke's breakdown the night before last Reid had upped his level of professionalism; he felt like he was beginning to get too close to his patient, caring about him as more than a patient. All Reid had done was shine his penlight in Luke's eyes and the blind man just jumped on him without warning; granted he just discovered he could see light.
Noticing that Reid had tensed at his touch Luke released him, "I'm sorry I just got a little, I don't know, I'm just happy I guess."
"It's understandable Mr Snyder."
Luke looked as if someone just punched him in the gut, "Don't call me that."
"It's your name isn't it."
"No, my name is Luke. You knew that the other night, what's changed?"
"Fine Luke, is that better?"
"What is with you? Since I've come here you've been acting really off with me, well, worse than before."
"You don't know what you're talking about, I've always been like this."
"Then why did you let me stay here with you?"
"Because I wanted to get the hell out of Oakdale and this was the only way I could do that." Forget the punched in the gut look, Luke looked like he'd been stabbed multiple times in the gut.
"You know what, I was starting to like you Doctor Oliver, but you just can't not be a jerk can you?"
"I have-"
"Rounds," Luke finished for him, "Yeah I know." Luke heard a door closing loudly signaling Reid's departure.
