Hi, LuRe peoples!
Question? Reid + Doctor = 4ever?
Can you imagine Reid doing anything else and if he did would it change his personality? I find it difficult separating Reid from his career, but what other jobs could you see him doing? Teacher? HA! (Oh man, now I'm imagining him in a Kindergarten Cop scenario

As far as dropping him in a film, I can see him in a movie like the Maltese Falcon, playing the Humphrey Bogart character.

He would still have Reid’s snarky attitude. Pushing the limit with the judge, just one snarky comment away from the judge holding him in contempt. I can imagine how he would treat opposing council. And he would even have graduated from Harvard Law. I see Luke in the role of running a non profit that works with the less fortunate and Luke wanting Reid to do pro bono work representing those in need.
I love all of it!
...I can see him in a movie like the Maltese Falcon...Oh, um, confession? I'm not 100% sure I've seen that movie from beginning to end. {hangs head in shame} BUT Bogart was in The Big Sleep. Reid would still be a doctor (instead of a detective...or maybe a disgraced doctor turned detective?) who is summoned by his patient, Lucinda Walsh, only to find out she wants him to help her granddaughter (Faith) get off drugs. Maybe Reid only agrees because blackmail is involved? Either way, Reid meets Luke on his ( ... )

BTW, All About Eve is one of my favorite movies.

It's a hella fun romp and I've watched it a ridiculous number of times.
Reid would make a fun Margo Channing. A superstar who is dating a younger, successful man (Luke/Bill) and who has a sweet, long-suffering friend (Katie/Karen) whose husband (Chris/Lloyd) works with Reid/Margo. Then along comes Eve/Evan and he turns their lives upside down. I haven't figured out who Addison or Max would be yet, but Reid would have Birdie's skepticism so no recast for that.
Okay, I'm done, lol. Thanks for 'listening'. :)

Hee! That'd be a wild fic! But they've totally roleplayed that scenario. :D

No! It needs to fix itself for you! ;'(
Reid's also supposed to find out more about Luke
Oh, I'm sure he will. Bow chicka wow wow!
And, holy cow, that circus one sounds hella trippy! :)

Oh, no, I'm garbage at making myself clear. I just think it's amazing that authors can create these unique, independent worlds for LuRe. I'm very paint-by-numbers and I think that's why everything I do feels so stagnant.
...who has mysteriously become a very talented trapeze artist in the meantime.
Hmm, does Luke's newfound talent stem from finding Reid again or was it a coincidence?

Heh, at one point I was kicking around the idea for Luke to be personal chef that Reid hires for...something (I didn't get very far) and Reid would, of course, still be a neurosurgeon.
I have no idea what the US version is...
I don't watch it, but I think there is a US version of MasterChef. Which reminds me, I need to watch the finale to The Great British Bake Off. I love that damn show, I just wish it didn't take so long for PBS to air it. :(

I think this scenario would work quite well, too - Reid as the snarky judge and Luke as a contestant (after having picked up baking tips from Emma, maybe?).

I love thinking of Reid in Humphrey Bogart roles. Bogart is a favorite of mine and I see the similarity. How about Reid in the Bogart role in "Sabrina"? The crusty older brother that seems all business but has a hidden charm that wins the love of the ingenue -- sound familiar?!
But the sort of obvious movie/book adaptation, to me, is "Pride and Prejudice". Reid is Mr. Darcy - snarking and offending the neighborhood. Luke is Lizzie - corralling his large family and inappropriate mother. Chris is Mr Collins - odious and fawning to get a good position. I know there was a video years ago that mashed up P&P with another show, assigning the characters to P&P characters. Was it ATWT or another show?? Gosh I think it was ATWT, didn't it poke fun at Noah? I can't remember!

Okay, I'm going to have to start a list because I haven't seen that one either. {embarrassed}

Heh, I just watched the 'trailer' and I'm sold.
