~Fun Fic Friday~
TGIF! It's the day before the weekend, and what better way to close out a long week than with a fun dose of ficlets and drabbles of Luke, Reid, or Luke & Reid? Or how about some amazing icons or graphics of the guys? (Don't be fooled by the name - Fun (Graph)Fic Friday just didn't have the same ring to it.) Here's your chance to

We're in or we're out of the money
But I'm with you always, I'm with you rain or shine
(just wonderful in Billie Holiday's version...)
Come (t)rain or come shine
"Tell me again why they're going there - again?" Reid sighs. "Why we are going there, again?"' He slumps onto the bed, his dress shirt still untucked, the pants from his tuxedo unbuttoned, his feet bare, socks in his hands.
Luke looks at him through the mirror, an amused smile on his face, while he's busy fixing his bow tie. "Aww, you never get tired hearing it, do you? Because they love each other. And because we love them!" Triumphantly he straightens the tie and adjusts the collar of his dress shirt, then rummages in the drawer for some cufflinks.
"What's love got to do with it? And why do they need to do all this in public? It sounds more like an incantation to me. They know they'll never live up to their promise and they desperately try to hide that by putting on a big show. Again." Reid groans, he reluctantly sits up and starts putting on his socks. "And everybody plays along. Again."
"You're done grumbling, love of my life?", Luke cajoles. He kneels at the bed. "Here, let me help you with that."
Reid bats his hands away. "I know what you're trying to do here, love of my life, " he sneers, "and it's not working!"
"Not?" Luke's hand is travelling upwards, leaving a trail of goose bumps on Reid's leg. "Hmm. Could've fooled me. Look, I know you're not very fond of these kind of gatherings. And I know there's a fair chance this may not be their last one, but could you please promise me one thing - sit this one out with me? For me? There'll be food! And cake! And me!" Luke waggles his eyebrows in an ultimate effort of enticement.
Reid chuckles, grabs Luke by his shirt and pulls the both of them backwards on the bed. "Promise you? I've learned the hard way, that promises, although they are easily made, are very hard, if not impossible, to keep. So... no, I'm sorry, I can't make you any promises. Ever. But I can tell you this..."
His hand cups Luke's face, his thumb caresses Luke's lips and his eyes hook with Luke's - because he saw that look of disappointment, even though it was there for just the briefest of moments, waver over Luke's face. "I can tell you that I'm with you. And that's not a promise. That's a fact."
I'm with you. That's not a promise. That's a fact.
Luke swallows, he closes his eyes, lets out a sigh and when he opens his eyes again he's drawn into an ocean of blue.
Their foreheads touch. Their lips meet. Luke's phone rings.
"F...
"Sap!"
"Love of my life!"
...
"Showtime?"
"Showtime!"
