A/N: Un-beta'd. I've been sitting on this for four day hoping it would turn into something (I'm a bit blocked), but all I've got is 266 words of domestic LuRe, and an unsated craving.
It was a lazy Thursday evening. Luke had walked through the front door a little after 5:30 pm, and, surprisingly, Reid arrived an hour later carrying Chinese food. They kissed briefly, and as much as Luke loved Reid, if pressed, he’d have to say he was happier seeing the take-out at that moment.
Luke turned off the pot that had just started to boil and said, “Tell me you got egg rolls.”
Reid smirked as he was removing containers from the plastic bag and placing them on the coffee table. “I got three orders.”
Sighing in relief, Luke pulled out two cans of cola and a pair of forks before joining Reid on the couch. The last meal he had had, that didn’t consist of pasta and commercially jarred sauce, was Sunday dinner at Emma’s, and the thought of another night of spaghetti made Luke’s throat close up involuntarily.
He passed Reid his fork, and in return, Reid handed Luke his fist egg roll of the night. Luke bit into the perfectly golden and crispy wrapper to revel in seasoned chucks of pork and cabbage. He moaned in deep-fried bliss, and Reid chuckled indulgently at his joy. “Happy?”
Luke ripped open a packet of sweet and sour sauce with his teeth and murmured, “In love.”
“Your heart is fickle, Mr. Snyder,” Reid said before shoving chow mein into his mouth.
Luke shrugged. What could he say when presented with food he didn’t have to cook? In consolation, he leaned over and gave Reid’s temple a greasy kiss. And then, Luke started on his second egg roll of the night.
