Also many thanks to alissablue for once again helping me out with totally EPIC research. :D Nearly two months have passed since the end of Save Me (Save Me ended at the end of January - it's the middle of March now). Luke and Reid are still living together, but still adjusting to their relationship. Luke's life seems to have settled down, until he and and Lily do a TV interview that sets of a chain reaction of events no one could have predicted.
Okay, there's some medical references in here that are probably totally wrong, and if so, you can blame Google. :) Also, it's last call for requests for the marathon sex chapter(s?). If you have a request, please get it to me by Sunday night - I'll probably start writing it sometime on Monday!
Reid could hear Luke begging Zoe and he hated it. Everything in him longed to tell Luke not to - no one should beg. Begging gave the other person power.
Reid didn’t like not being the one with the power.
His head swam and he tried to open his eyes. Zoe didn’t seem to notice him, focusing on Luke. Reid tried to keep still. As long as he didn’t make any sudden movements, he could try to stay awake and figure out what was going on.
“Will you hold it together?” Zoe snapped at him. “I got the drugs, didn’t I? He’ll be fine once he takes them.”
She was an idiot. Reid needed more than just meds. He was going to need IV antibiotics, and probably a laparotomy to remove the bullet. Based on how he was feeling, he’d lost quite a bit of blood and his wound was most likely infected.
“Why are you doing this? Why won’t you give him the meds?” Luke asked.
“You said you’d do anything, if I got these.” She shook the bottles at him.
“I will.” Luke promised. Reid bit back a groan.
No, Luke. Don’t.
“Now help me wake him up.”
Zac burst in the room before she could reply.
“We got it!” Zac crowed. “She transferred the money.”
“Are you sure?” Zoe questioned, turning to him. He pulled her into a kiss.
“I checked it three times.”
“We did it, Mama.” Zoe said to her mother’s picture. “We got back what was ours.”
“Is my mother okay?” Luke asked.
“She’s fine.” Zac answered, grinning. Reid let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. He couldn’t believe that he’d actually been worried about Lily, of all people.
“Can you help Reid now?”
“Help him how?” Zac looked at Zoe.
“She got him medication.”
“I had to.” Zoe said, sounding coy.
“Why?”
“Because now Luciano’s gonna do what I want.”

A sudden spike of fear went through Luke at her words.
This somehow seemed so much more than the money, though Luke couldn’t imagine what more Zoe could want from him. His mother had transferred the money. Why weren’t Zac and Zoe letting them go now?
“Z, I know this important you, but we should just clean up this mess and get out of here.” Zac said. Luke stared at them.
“I have to, Z, for Mama.” She replied.
“Do what?” Luke interrupted.
“You should go.” Zoe ignored him. “I’ll meet you where we agreed.”
“There’s no time for this, Z.” Zac insisted.
“Just go, Z.” She told him, smiling despite her slightly forceful tone.
“What about him?” Zac jerked his head at Luke.
“I’ll deal with them both.” They kissed, and then Zac left.
Zoe turned around and looked at Luke.
“What do you mean?” Luke looked at her. “How are you going to deal with us?”
“According to our agreement.” Zoe answered, crossing her arms over her chest. “You do what I want and then I give your boyfriend the drugs.”
“You’re not going to kill us?” Luke let out a huge sigh of relief.
“Not if I don’t have to.”
“You don’t have to.”
“Well that depends.” Zoe crouched down next to him.
“What do you want me to do?” Luke asked her. He’d thought this was all about the money, but it clear now it was more than that.
“Don’t be so worried, Luciano.” She smiled. “It’s not going to hurt.” Zoe crept closer. “You might actually enjoy it.”
