Author's Note: Many thanks to stl29tide for being an awesome beta. You rock! Also many thanks to alissablue for once again helping me out with totally EPIC research. :D Nearly two months have passed since the end of Save Me (Save Me ended at the end of January - it's the middle of March now). Luke and Reid are still living together, but still adjusting to their relationship. Luke's life seems to have settled down, until he and and Lily do a TV interview that sets of a chain reaction of events no one could have predicted.

I am planning a marathon sex chapter for toward the end of the fic, and have decided that I am taking requests. Something you want the boys to do? Let me know ;) I will pick and choose through the responses (everything is subject to what I'm comfortable with, but don't let that stop you from requesting something!), and if I pick your request, it will be mentioned in the author's not for that chapter. I have gotten some great ideas - keep them coming! Heh.

“Of course this was all about money.” Reid glared at Zac and Zoe.

“Damn, you’re smart.” Zac replied, a sarcastic tone in his voice.

“You bet your ass I am.” Reid met his gaze. “I’m fucking genius, moron.”

“Oh, really?” Zoe arched an eyebrow. “Well, if you’ve got it all figured out, why don’t you enlighten us?”

“Your original target was Luke.” Reid said, hating the realization. “You tried to take him out - the hit and run, the stabbing. Damian was right - you thought he was Luke.” He continued. “I’m guessing from the Grimaldi ring left at the foundation, that either one or both of you are Grimaldi’s and assumed that with Luke out of the way, you’d be next in line to inherit the money.”

Neither Zac nor Zoe said anything, so Reid kept talking.

“Then Damian showed up, and the Snyders got worried for Luke’s safety, and he became harder to get to. You changed tactics. You hacked into the foundation computers, tried to steal the money, and you screwed up and got caught.” He chuckled. “Damian and I actually figured it out, and when you realized I knew just enough to start putting some pieces together, you took me.”

Zac and Zoe both looked uncomfortable now.

“And then you realized ‘wow, we can ransom him for the money’.” Reid sighed. “Because Luke is just stupid enough to give it to you and the both of you are insane and completely idiotic.” He smirked. “How I’m doing so far?”

“Shut him up.” Zoe exclaimed.

“Huh, good idea.” Zac agreed, getting up and grabbing the roll of duct tape. He tore off a piece and stuck it over Reid’s mouth. “Now all we have to do is wait.”

“Any idea how you want to pass the time?” She grinned at him.

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Zac asked.

“How often is it that we have a captive audience?” She replied. Zac growled and then tackled her to the floor with a laugh before kissing her.

Reid closed his eyes and pretended Luke was there.

“Okay, let’s go through this one more time.” Margo said gently. Luke was sitting on the couch, his legs pulled up, his arm wrapped around them. His mother had gotten him a cup of tea, but it sat on the coffee table, untouched.

“I told you everything I know.” Luke sniffled. He hated this. Everyone was milling around, watching him. His friends were seated at the table, drinking tea, but not saying much. Lily was sitting next to him on the couch. Katie was still in the arm chair, and Brad had shown up. He’d tried to take Katie home, but she’d refused to leave. Damian and Holden were content to stand at opposite ends of the living room and glare at each other.

“I know this is hard, Luke.” Margo told him. “But we need to make sure we didn’t miss anything.” He nodded after a moment.

“We had a fight, at Java. That’s the last time I saw him.” Luke said. “He went to work, or he was supposed to go to work.”

“Did anyone see you fight?” Luke wiped his eyes. “Noah. And a couple of volunteers from my foundation, Zac and Zoe Finn.” Margo nodded, writing their names down.

“What was the fight about?”

“I don’t see how that’s relevant.” Luke muttered.

“Every little detail might be important, Luke.”

“I - He was mad because I’ve been keeping things from him. I accused him of treating me like a child.” Luke sighed. “He got upset and left.” She nodded again.

“Tell me about the rest of that day.”

“I went to the foundation for a few hours.” He said. “My phone died and…I just needed some time to think.” Luke told her. “When I turned it back on, I saw that Reid had tried to call me a few times, so I decided to come home.”

“And Reid never came home.” Luke shook his head.

“Nope.” Luke’s voice cracked. “I called him a few times, but there was no answer. I just thought he was still mad at me.”

“You mentioned a phone call.”

“Yeah.” Luke replied. “Reid finally called. He said that he’d had an emergency surgery, and then after that he’d hopped a flight to Minnesota at Dr. Hughes insistence.”

“You didn’t think that was weird?”

“It’s completely unlike him.” Luke chuckled a little. “He hates those conferences, he hates flying, he hates giving speeches. He wouldn’t have just up and gone without telling me he was leaving, either. Or Katie.”

“But you believed him.”

“I didn’t have any reason not to.”

“And you got a text too?” Luke pulled out his phone, and showed it to Margo.

“It’s not like him at all…but it is from his phone.”

“And then the note?”

“Was on the porch when Katie showed up.” She closed her notebook.

“I’m going to need statements from everyone here.” Margo said, glancing around the room.

“So what do I do now?” Luke’s voice was broken, and he stared at her with wide eyes.

“I know it’s hard, Luke.” She looked at him. “Have they told you where to take the ransom yet?”

“No.”

“Then that gives us some time to look for Dr. Oliver.” She told him. “The important thing is, if you get further instructions, that you don’t pay the ransom.”

“What?” He asked. “Why not?”

“We need something else first.” Margo answered, looking pained. “It’s called proof of life.”
