Title- The Torture Continues

Characters- Luke, Reid’s heart, Chris, Katie, Casey, Bob, Tom, Lily and Holden.

This is a sequel to Reid Slowly Tortures Chris and should be read as such. This was getting too long and so I have split it into two parts.

Rating PG 13 for language, angry Luke tends to drop the F-bomb with alarming regularity.

First off, the citizens of Oakdale are so moronically stupid it's laughable. If the show continued I'm sure this is how they would have reacted (although I doubt the show would be as controversial to make Chris fall in love with Luke)

Second, Oh yeah in 6 months Luke should really be over Reid. Yes, it's so unreasonable for Luke to still be in mourning. Another reason the citizens of Oakdale are stupid.

Chris... I'm supposed to hate him right? But it is kind of hilarious how everyone thinks Luke is going to get with him because Chris wants him too. The level that that man feels entitled to things is outrageous.

Luke needs to leave Oakdale asap, but he can't because Reid is there :(

Can't wait for the next part!

Thankjs for reading. Yes you're supposed to hate Chris in this fic. I do. This was my reaction to how everyone treated Luke after Reid had died. It was so awful, imo, I hated how Luke and Reid were treated more than I hated Reid's death, and I really hated Reid's death.

It was strange. No one seemed to care about Reid ten minutes after he died, and no one comforted Luke at all, not with any gusto at least, besides maybe (barf) Noah. But then they all go on about how Reid and Luke were so in love with each other. None of it made any sense since half the people who were talking about Reid and Luke didn't even see them together.

I totally agree. It was weird and awful. Especially because Luke was a core character. Can you imagine people treating Parker that way if Liberty had died from Leukemia? Ugh stupid show.

hmm, I wonder if Chris is actually going to get Luke in bed? Seems promising... :)

Am I meant to hate everyone in this fic besides Luke and now Casey? Cause I do! How rude and insensitive of them to only think about themselves and expect Luke to put their needs before his own.

I stopped watching the show after the "hold the phone" episode, so I was seriously disturbed to read that none of the Hughes showed up to Reid's funeral (was this an element you added to the fic or did it happen this way on the show).

Yes you are supposed to hate everyone except Luke and Casey and Katie is coming around. No one went to the funeral except for Luke, Noah, Lily and Holden. There wasn't even any mention of why no one else was there. I was shocked that so few people were there to support Luke and especially that Bob and Casey and Katie were absent.
Tom was horrible to Luke at the hospital, he really acted like a vulture.

Thanks for reading.

Tom, AND Bob, and John were vultures. Tom and John I can understand, they never knew Reid. But Bob was like a father to Reid. I never understood how he could give up so quickly and decide to harvest organs. And he knew how great Luke and Reid's love was (he and noah and katie were the only ones who knew that Reid quit his job for Luke) that obviously speaks volumes. But he shrugs his shoulders and says "Get the heart!" Whatever, the story wasn't about Reid anymore, it was Chris' story.

I know. I really felt like the writers ruined the character of Bob that day. The story became all about Chris which I hated. I get that Chris was his son, but really would you really forget about a colleague that you had mentored because he was in an accident? Would you not at least try to save his life?
Why the show made Chris so unrootable and then had him live I will never understand.
Katie would have been much happier living with Reid, until Simon came back to town, IMO.

Ugh. I hate everyone in Oakdale except for Casey and Luke.

I hate Chris. I just hate him. And I hate that everyone thinks that Luke would want to be with him just because Chris says so.

Luke needs to get the hell out of that crazy town.

I really hate Chris as well. Ugh! The way they ended the show I could honestly imagine everyone thinking that Luke should be with Chris. The way that Reid's death was just dismissed, like he didn't matter was just appalling.

cool chapter. It's so funny that the parts of the story that would seem like character bashing or crack!fic to a non-viewer are the most realistic [well, maybe not the I have Reid's heart so I love Luke part]. People pushing Luke into dating when Reid's only been gone 6 months - typical Oakdale. The Hughes being ungrateful, smug hypocrites - fits the final episodes perfectly. I'm glad that you saved Casey's characterization - I hated him not being there for Luke on the show.

I really hated Katie and Casey and Bob not being at Reid's funeral. I hated that Casey was not there for Luke at all. I hated Luke being all alone, except for Noah, which was a little creepy for me with the kiss and I'll wait for you. I hated that. I really wanted Luke to have someone in his corner and I wanted it to be Casey.
I can certainly see the pressure put on Luke to be happy by people around him. Luke is such a caring person that people tend to rely on him for that, so it makes them uncomfortable when he is the one that needs support. That's why I had Lily and Holden pushing Luke toward Chris. I think it would be easier for them if Luke were in a relationship, even an unhappy one if they weren't forced to see it as unhappy.
Sorry that I am rambling.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I really appreciate it.
