TGIF! It's the day before the weekend, and what better way to close out a long week than with a fun dose of ficlets and drabbles of Luke, Reid, or Luke & Reid? Or how about some amazing icons or graphics of the guys? (Don't be fooled by the name - Fun (Graph)Fic Friday just didn't have the same ring to it.) Here's your chance ( Read more... )

Walk of shame

I wrote a shower scene. This is my favorite chapter that I've ever written for LuRe:

It was wonderful to read again. Lucinda spoke wise words to Luke and Luke heeded the advice. That shower seemed to have changed Reid's emotional state.

Shower me with your love

Scrubs fall on the floor. Top first, then bottoms. Followed by t-shirt and boxer briefs. Socks and shoes were already left behind in the bedroom.

Water pours down. Gently, like rain in May. The nourishing kind of rain, full of life.

Steam fills the bathroom, covering the mirror. Fortunately, so he does not have to look at himself.

He pulls the curtain aside and steps under the showerhead.

Lifitng his head, he inhales. He wipes his face, then runs a hand through his hair.

Resting his forehead against the wall, he exhales.

He knows he cannot save them all. But that does not mean he'll ever stop trying.

Head down, he lets the water run all over him. Soothe him. Sorrow runs down the drain. But it's not enough.

He feels a cold draft. Then two strong arms that encircle him. Warmth.

"Bad day?"

"Not anymore." He leans backwards. Home. He's home.

"Shall I wash your hair?"

"Mmmhmm."

Water pours down. Gently, like rain in May. The nourishing kind of rain. Full of life.

I love this. I was thinking of doing something similar, but this is perfection, so I'll just read this one again instead.

Thanks for sharing. I love the idea of Luke comforting Reid after a bad day, beause all doctors have them.

(I really wanted to do this one and it took me forever to come up with an idea, haha. Writing rust)

Luke had never been shy about his body, always one to toss his shirt aside and jump right into the pond in his backyard back home, however, there was something to be said about the men’s bathroom in a college dorm. It was his first night of college, and therefore, his first time showering somewhere that wasn’t in the privacy of his own home.

What should he wear? Should he take everything off before he left his room? Or should he just bring a towel with him to wrap around himself once he finished his shower? Or should he go the bath robe route ( ... )

Cute! I don't think that's the only reason Reid wants to find Luke. :)

Well, it might be the initial reason he wants to find Luke... but no, definitely not the only ;)

I enjoyed this. Every time I'm at a hotel I have to study the shower controls and often endure cold blasts figuring it out!

What if Luke and Reid met this way? I like the thought.

It was a little after 8 p.m. on Friday night when Reid, who was on the couch reading the latest Journal of Neurosurgery with his feet in Luke’s lap, looked over his reading glasses when he heard the sounds of paper ripping and the tv turning off ( ... )

A couple of my teams hit the showers early today. My bracket is done and my Wildcats choked, but my Jayhawks made it through. I'm glad Luke got to hit the shower with Reid. That should cheer him right up. Nice ficlet.

It's definitely a win-win situation for both! Sorry about your one team, but the other should go far! Thanks for commenting.
