That brochure

So Reid had gotten his own neuro-unit … finally.
Not in Oakdale however.
And not built with the money of Luke’s foundation.

Luke held the brochure in his hands, slightly trembling, unsure what to think about it. What to think at all.
So Reid hadn’t returned to Dallas.
Not a surprise.
Luke knew Reid wasn’t really happy in Dallas.
“Dr. Reid Oliver …. Chief of the new neuro-unit…”
John Hopkins …
A surprise neither… He was brilliant, he deserved ”John Hopkins”, he deserved running a wing even more.
If he was happy in Baltimore?
Turning the folded card Luke found the date… next week the grand opening was scheduled.
Well then…
…

“Luke…”
“Hi…Reid!”
“…you actually came.”
“How could I not? When the great Dr. Oliver was actually inviting Mr. Snyder?”
“Actually Reid was inviting Luukke…”
This was a surprise however.
Reid Oliver being civil…even NICE… after all …
“It’s been over a year.”
“I know…”
“I didn’t go with him, Reid.”
“I know - “
“Katie?”
“No…you know … 'don’t mention that name-politics'…but last month I presented at a conference in Los Angeles and there I met him. He works for an event-catering”
“Yes, I’ve heard…from Allison.”
...
“So what do you think? …About talking after this shindig is over… somewhere else, somewhere more private?”
“It would be my pleasure, Dr. Oliver.”
And finally it was there again…the crooked smile, the intense glare, the adorable insecurity - long enough for Luke to get week in his knees.
“I hope it won’t take long.”
He managed to cat-call at Reid’s back who was already returning to his duties - just loud enough that the departing redhead heard it, turned around
and blew him a kiss -
right in front of his new COS.

Oh! This ticked all the boxes
- they're out of Oakdale
- Reid inviting Luukke
- He who shall remain unmentioned far far away
- the crooked smile
- the intense glare
- the adorable -adorable- insecurity
- the blowing kiss

That is much better reasoning behind the brochure than the one that pops to mind! Thank you! They are so adorable when they are insecure.

Sigh, they could never stay away from each other forever. Thank you for rewriting that stupid brochure.

Ooh, I like the idea of a reunion like this. Glad they've found their way back to each other. :)
