About resolutions and ringing in and out
"Honey, I'm ho-home..." Luke yells as he enters, carrying two grocery bags in his one hand, stuff from the dry cleaners under his arm and clamping a small parcell between his chin and shoulder, while trying to get the key out of the lock without dropping all the items on the floor and closing the door with his foot. "No need to help. I've got, I've got it..." he mutters under his breath.
It's dark inside. The Christmas tree, the fireplace and a few candles are the only things that provide a little light.
"You're late." Reid's voice comes from the lounge chair by the fireplace. He points at the clock on the mantelpiece, that says '07.34'
"Well, sorry about that. It was awfully busy out there and I still had to pick up a few things for tonight's celebrations," Luke drops the grocery bags on the kitchen counter, throws the bag from the dry cleaners over a chair, places the small parcell he was holding on the coffee table and walks back to the kitchen to find a plate and a few napkins, before returning to the living room. "I dropped off Ethan and on my way home I..." he stops in his tracks as his eyes fall on the man in front of the fire. First, an incredulous smile starts to form but almost immediately after that, his body begins to respond. "Wow!" Without looking, he puts the plate and napkins down, "Wow! You are so nice to come home to!"
Reid chuckles. "Do I finally have your attention? What's a man got to do to get a little quality time in this town?"
"Ehm..." Luke scratches the back of his head. He bites his lip and takes another step towards Reid. He reaches out, touches Reid's cheek and lets his index finger run over Reid's lower lip.
Reid opens his mouth and softly bites Luke's finger. "I thought we might ring out the old in private, before we ring in the new with almost everybody else in this town..."
"Mmmm, that sounds really good to me" Luke dives in for a kiss. And another one. And a little bit more than just a kiss.

"What's that, on the table?"
"Oh, I totally forgot about that. It's something I picked up at that new delicatessen in Old Town. It's supposed to be a New Year's treat in the owners homeland, he made it after an old family recipe. You want to try?"
