~Fun Fic Friday~

TGIF! It's the day before the weekend, and what better way to close out a long week than with a fun dose of ficlets and drabbles of Luke, Reid, or Luke & Reid? Or how about some amazing icons or graphics of the guys? (Don't be fooled by the name - Fun (Graph)Fic Friday just didn't have the same ring to it.) Here's your chance to ( Read more... )

I like to think it also fills the prompt 'Playing an instrument' by kccalgal in the december drabble-a-thon that can be found here http://lure-atwt.livejournal.com/2452362.html?page=2

Today, a famous piano was auctioned, the piano from 'Casablanca' on which Sam played 'that' song, in Paris. (Ah, Paris - 'We'll always have Paris')

'Play it, Sam. Play 'As time goes by'.'

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

Here's looking at you, kid!

Strong, long fingers touch black and white keys. Soft tones fill the empty auditorium. Blue scrubs cover the piano stool. A bandana is thrown aside. One hand disappears in reddish curls.
Then more music sounds. Shoulders relax as the fingers move over the grand piano. They find their own way to a soothing melody, one that eases the heart and makes the brain calm down.
Six hours of surgery. Six hours of the upmost concentration. Adrenaline built up, it has to leave his body now. There was nothing more that he could do. There's nothing else that he can do now. Playing the piano. Emptying his mind. And maybe grabbing something to eat before he slumps down in the on-call room later. Just one more song.

"What's that I hear?"
"Oh, that's Dr. Grumpy. He must have had a bad day in the theatre. Always comes down here to play it off when something like that happens. Which is not that often, actually. Unfortunately, because he plays rather well and well... just look at him - isn't he just gorgeous when he's not snarking around and making our lives miserable?"
Both nurses take a peak through the small window besides the door. It is a beautiful sight.

Lovely, thank you lurelei after the events of today I don't have the creativity I usually do so this was lovely to read, and somewhere in the back of my mind I remember some reference on Reid playing piano...or maybe it was in someones story, I can't remember;)

I like it when a man can play the piano and well - Reid does have the hands to do so, so... ;)

p.s. I suddenly realized something, so I had to edit. My heart cries too. I have to keep busy, to keep my mind occupied. And I hug my six-year-old even more than on other days.

well, you're journal refuses to accept my comment there, so I'll post a second one here :)

Playing the piano. Emptying his mind. ...Just one more song.

Well, there are three things in my life that always prevented me from going insane, my kids, sport and MUSIC...playing the piano - yes it's absoulutely like that, you're becoming calm and empty in the best way.

So well written!

Hee, I was just formulating my response for you!
This one was (my secret message) for you, you know. Reid. Piano.
After a terrible Reidless week, that's what I needed - was guessing you could be in need of it too ;)

Hmmm. Peak = peek. Besides = beside. There are probably more, but this is what I found at first glance. Oh, how I wish I could dive back in again to fix this. Sigh.
