~Fun Fic Friday~
TGIF! It's the day before the weekend, and what better way to close out a long week than with a fun dose of ficlets and drabbles of Luke, Reid, or Luke & Reid? Or how about some amazing icons or graphics of the guys? (Don't be fooled by the name - Fun (Graph)Fic Friday just didn't have the same ring to it.) Here's your chance to

‘don't do the crime if you can't do the time
don’t do it’
Baretta’s theme
"... And this is how it's done." With one last move of his knight Reid ends the game: "Check and mate."
It's their third game that evening. And although Luke likes it, he enjoys watching a concentrated Reid, he's also getting a little bit bored and a little bit distracted by the thoughts of other games they could play. They've got the whole apartment to themselves. The whole night, a part of the next day and Luke is ready. Ready to take that next step, that step he couldn't take when the opportunity was there and he hurt Reid in the process by letting his feelings for a long gone love prevail. And he knows he's the one who has to take the initiative.
"So, ehm, you want to play another one?" Luke loosens the collar of his shirt and casually shifts on the couch. Pretending not to notice the motion reveals his stomach, he stretches his arms above his head.
It's their third game that evening. And although Reid likes it, he enjoys playing Luke, he's also getting a little bit restless and a little bit distracted by the thoughts of other games they could play. Katie and Jacob are out and not expected back before tomorrow somewhere in the afternoon and God knows he's ready. Ready to take Luke to his bed and show him he's done with encouragement and this Victorian hero thing, ready to do the things he wanted to do in that hotel suite, before he was rejected so coldly that thinking about that day still felt off. But he knows Luke's the one who has to take the initiative.
Reid swallows. "Don't roll the dice if you can't pay the prize..."
“Hmm?” Luke casually asks.
“Don’t do it, Luke. Don’t play this game if you don’t want to finish it.” Reid’s eyes shift from Luke’s, to his mouth, to his eyes again. He takes the chess pieces and begins to set up another game.
“But I do, you know, I do want to fnish it. I want this to happen as much as you do,” Luke closes the distance between him and Reid, in the process chess pieces fall off the couch. “So, what do you say, are you ready to play another game?”
Reid opens his mouth to say something, but the words don’t come out. He looks at Luke carefully. He has to be sure. Luke has to be sure. Because there’s one thing that is very obvious - there’s no room for regret.
“I am ready, Luke. I’ve been ready for a long long time.”
And that is all the encouragement Luke needs.
