Part 1
Crime and Punishment
“C’mon give me the keys and let’s get going,” Luke said anger and impatience in his voice.
“Luke, I’m sorry, really I am,” Reid hung his head as he grabbed his jacket, he knew he had screwed up and Luke’s bitch face and cold tone was not a good sign for the night he had planned for them, the extra special lube would remain unopened.
“I know, you’ve said that, but if you would’ve listened in the first place this wouldn’t have happened,” Luke sighed heading for the door and then doubling back towards the kitchen.
Reid tried again to placate his furious boyfriend, ”But he looked so sad watching the rest of them run and play, I just wanted him to feel like the rest of them.”
“He’s a beagle Reid with sad puppy-dog brown eyes, apparently just like mine when I want something from you,” Luke shrugged after grabbing the liver treat’s bag off the counter.
“Why are you bringing those?” Reid asked.
“For a genius you can be pretty dumb some days, food, dog, food dog’s come, food, Reid, food and Reid comes,” Luke explained shaking the package of treats in front of Reid’s face as Luke walked to the door.
“Oh,” Reid replied and thought better of making some rude remark of what else made him come.
He was in the doghouse literally and figuratively, Luke had warned him not to let Snoopy off his leash until he had finished his training, but that was months away. Reid felt sorry for him when he took Snoopy to the off-leash park and Snoopy desperately wanted to play with the other dogs. He figured it wouldn’t hurt if he let him off for a few minutes to play and then he would put him back on.
All he remembers is one minute Snoopy was there and he was talking with a lady with a black Great Dane and then when he looked back Snoopy was gone. Reid didn’t want to call Luke but after 20 minutes of calling for Snoopy he called Luke and Luke told him to meet him at the house and they’d go back together.
Reid sighed as he sat in the car looking at Luke’s stern profile and remembering how excited he was when they found the Beagle Rescue Center on their way back from Chicago one day. They decided to take a scenic route and it was a beautiful spring day so they stopped in a secluded park for a picnic and a quickie. As they turned back towards the Interstate they saw a sign at the side of the road, Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, Beagle Rescue Center, 2 miles.
“Oh my god let’s go Reid, maybe we can find our own Snoopy,” Luke said excitedly his brown eyes sparkling and his face still pink and flushed after their picnic.
“What are you talking about?” Reid asked looking at his boyfriends smiling face and melting a little.
“Don’t you remember the Peanuts, Charlie Brown get’s Snoopy from The Daisy Hill Puppy Farm,” Luke explained patiently as Reid quirked an eyebrow at him.
“Remember, genius, chess protégé, I didn’t watch cartoons or read comics,” Reid huffed back at Luke, knowing his childhood wasn’t like other kids.
“Poor Reid, no fun, no friends,” Luke teased and saw the hurt flicker across Reid’s eyes for an instant, “Oh, baby, I’m sorry,” Luke apologized quickly, “You know I’m only teasing.”
“Yeah, I know but I’ve never had a dog, I’m not sure I’ll be a good owner. What if it doesn’t like me? What if I don’t like it?” Reid babbled nervously as the made they’re way to the kennel, hearing the baying of the dogs.
Luke grabbed Reid’s hand and tugged him close and whispered in his ear, “Don’t worry you’ll be fine,” he reassured.

My neighbor - dog-pal is a beagle, he has inspired 'Kafka'...
This so adorable....babbling Reid Luke exactly knowing what he's doing to his man ...
I am dying of love here and I don't want it to end after the second part....
