How about filling in all the blanks in those too-short LuRe episodes that ATWT aired? Tell us your best ideas as to what might’ve happened between scenes or episodes that were too short or ended much too soon and abruptly in comments to this post. Today:
Your gap-filler or fix-it fic must be based on this week’s episode or scene and posted below. It can be a sentence, paragraph, or a long, lengthy fic. You may write more than one for the same prompt, and for those of you who wish to write lengthier fics, please include a link here if you post elsewhere (like your journal or
lure_atwt).
OR
If you don't want to write fic, you can simply share your ideas as to what you think should've happened. Discuss what happened in your mind in the comments below.
Here's a refresher of the episode if you want or need it:
Embed is likely to fail since we're heading into missing-from-YouTube territory, so if it doesn't work,
here. The first one is slightly higher quality than the second one (which is the one I'm trying to embed), so you might want to click on that link anyway for a less pixelated video.
Aaaand we're back. And the boys are still kissing and unbuttoning shirts and generally just can't get enough. But who am I telling this to? Is there anyone here who hasn't watched this particular scene over and over and over again? Thought so. ;)
For some unfathomable reason (okay, Guilt with a capital G), Luke breaks away, much to the frustration of most everyone in this comm. Now, the question is of course: have any of the lovely writers in this fandom already fixed this? Hit the comments with links, please. :) I mean, all the delicious angst that could come out of them actually having sex right there and then (and then maybe moving out of the state later) and Luke just feeling torn and guilty... surely this story's been written before? If not, someone please write it?
Reid tries to be the rational one, but Luke won't have it at that moment. I guess "sex is just sex" isn't the same as "a kiss is just a kiss". Luke runs away, as Reid puts it, and goes straight to the hospital, where he continues being good old, supportive Luke to Noah.
Reid just so happens to walk in on Luke's monologue, and they do a little awkward dance in the hospital room. Luke starts off apologizing, but Reid must have come to some realizations on his way over as well, and these realizations seem to include letting Luke off the hook and, dare I say, giving up, at least temporarily. :(
However, let's focus on the awesomeness of this episode - specific events and lines - that could be explored a little more:
- more kissing (I mean, just look at how Luke dives right back in even after he's all "What the hell am I doing?")
- "mistake", really? Maybe Reid has a point with his "How do you know it's a mistake until you've actually made it?"
- "Shh, shh, stop, let me." Guh!
- "Deep down, you wanted it to happen just as much as I did."
- "We were about to have sex, not move out of the state."
- "Don't beat yourself up for wanting to move on."
- "...no matter what was happening in your personal life. You can separate that and your work better than anyone I've ever seen."
- "You're not all that, Mr. Snyder."
- "One's not such a low number."
- ...
Apologies for this being mostly Reid quotes, but Luke was in a more reactive position in this and obviously Reid's catering more to our wishes. ;)
So, any thoughts?
