Luke looks down the length of the boardroom table at his boyfriend, Dr. Reid Oliver, who is sitting at the head of the table, near the county commissioner. The commissioner is standing and speaking to the fifteen people seated at the large table, and Reid appears bored, as he doodles on the notebook in front of him. Luke stares at his lover until Reid feels it and looks up. Their eyes lock. Reid does that thing that Luke loves where he smiles with his eyes, instead of his mouth. It's subtle, and Luke's not really sure how he does it, but it creates this delicious tugging feeling in his stomach every time.

Luke looks slowly around the table to see that everyone is focused on the man speaking, and then his eyes return to Reid's. Luke tugs gently on his own right ear, before running his thumb slowly over his own bottom lip. He sees Reid swallow and sit forward ever so slightly, and he knows that under the table Reid is tracing small circle patterns over his own thigh with his long fingers because Luke knows Reid, and that's what Reid does.

Luke can't help the small smile that comes to his face, as he parts his lips and licks them subtely. He knows the effect he's having on his boyfriend. No one else would notice it, but he knows that Reid can see the pink tip running over the bottom of his top teeth and caressing just inside his upper lip. Luke catches the small smile as Reid parts his lips, and Luke swears he can feel him breathe. Luke has to roll his lips inward to keep from smiling too much or possibly even laughing because, God, he loves teasing Reid. And Reid's got his head cocked to the side a bit, and his eyes are narrowed and saying "You suck, Snyder," without a word, and Luke knows he's in for it later.

Yes, he's definitely going to get it.

Ah, yes, just for Luke. I do like to think that they're so in sync with one another that they just know what the other is thinking always. And I'm glad Luke's "definitely going to get it." Hee.

I'm sure I've said this a dozen times before but this probably my favorite thing about ESS/Reid - that he conveys so much with just his eyes.
