Reid has settled into his life with Luke in the land that time forgot. But every once in a while he needed to get away from the nonsense and immerse himself into a large bustling city. With Chicago so close it was their favorite weekend getaway. There were so many different museums and pro sports teams that it was never the same trip twice.
It so happened that this time Luke decided they needed to see the Navy Pier. Reid reminded Luke that these tourist destinations were always more than happy to take your money for an insignificant trinket that would break or hang in the closet until the next charity drive. Luke told Reid he had something else in mind. He wanted to create a memory. With that in mind he bought tickets for the Ferris wheel.
It was an impressive ride. 40 gondolas rotate around to a height of 150 feet (about 45 meters) taking 7 minutes to make one trip. Luke raved about the impressive view they would have. Reid said they would have a better view at Willis Tower (Sears Tower) on a far more sturdy observation deck. Luke ignored Reid’s statement a pulled him on the gondola.
No sooner than the door closed Reid realized Luke’s idea for a memory had nothing to do with seeing the city. Luke’s hand went straight for the button on Reid’s jeans.
“We’ve only got seven minutes,” he said lowering the zipper. Let’s make this the ride of our life.”
Watching Luke loosen his own pants Reid had to admit that the view on the ride was much better.
