At Yo’s

Some people say that we would show our real character while drunk. And they had a point there, since you lose your inhibits and control when you are pickled.

Reid shrugged realizing he didn’t want to be the man he became when he was getting boozed up. There were two reactions actually.

After the second bear he mostly got horny like hell and had done stupid things in the past, like hook up with men he didn’t even like.

Well then, after the third beer he usually became this strange moping, musing about crazy things type, convinced to be born into the wrong time and space,

speaking a foreign language the morons surrounding him couldn’t understand.

This state was far worse than the horny phase of course. What both stadiums had in common however was that he couldn’t control his mouth even less than usual.

“I’m not!”

Why did he just say this? Blurting out that Luke was driving him crazy, blurting out, that he had feelings for him, that he was in a really bad shape - unable to keep away from Luke.

Deleting Luke’s pic from his cell earlier- what a lame, failed try.

Only with his luck and maybe after the fourth beer he would have shown it to Luke and made the biggest fool out of himself…

“I’m not!” No he wasn’t confused - maybe he was the only one in this whole mess, who wasn’t confused about his feelings.

What a joke! Reid Oliver was totally clear when it came to his FEELINGS for Luke.

“I’m not!”

Of course this wasn’t an unfurled declaration of love and objectively those three words opened several possibilities of speculation.

But this was Luke. A between-the-lines-reader. A sensitive man, looking past Reid Oliver’s acts.

Of course Luke had understood and reacted the way he had to be expected: Pinned theses bottomless eyes that almost had killed Reid from the beginning,

and looked perplex and helpless.

It was then when that outsized knife dug its tip into Reid’s navel again, rotated around its own axis making him writhe inwardly.

“I can’t do this.”

Who could have?

“You can’t do what?”

What was he supposed to answer to Luke’s rhetorical question? To buzz off would have been best.

But he had emptied his third and a half beer.

“I can’t keep sitting here, draped onto a dessert spoon offering myself like a damn delicious canapé and you?

...You prefer to chew away on a piece of beef jerky.”

Only Luke looked even more confused, his eyes even browner, deeper, cuter, more adorable…

“If, if you only wanted me, Luke I would be there…”

“But…”

“There is no but - it’s as simple as this: Make your decision: beef jerky and now and then, on holidays, a dry, crumby cake or …”

“Or holiday roasts, mousse au chocolat and cream cake every day.”

Luke unexpectedly smiled in return now baffling the man in front of him who slightly swayed and obviously suffered from heartache.

“Come here…”

And who was Reid Oliver not to follow a clearly stated, reasonable request.

I always thought there had to be more to that scene at Yo's.

Thanks for sharing! :)
