So I started the process of applying for jobs near Albany Monday night. And tonight I set up an interview for next Friday. Holy cow. (Seems strange to invoke the sacred bovine when the pope is about to die live on international TV

I guess you're right.. My feeling is that they might be willing to push it out a bit because they're doing construction right now, presumably to make room for the people they're hiring, so it might work out that it's better for me to start when that's over. I dunno. I guess I've got a skewed perspective because I've only worked for EB, and they gave me like 4 weeks to make up my mind, and I think I took another 4 weeks after that to start work. Though they're used to things moving at a glacial pace...
I could probably flex my schedule a month earlier. It'd mean breaking my lease, but that'd just mean I don't get my security deposit (1 month's rent) back, so it keeping it and breaking it would cost me the same thing. My project should be pretty well done then too.. Hmm.. I'll look into this option some more..
I know you're right about the company not being loyal to me, so I shouldn't be to it, but I don't really think that's what I'm feeling. I don't care about the company taking a hit, the customer getting pissed, or anything like that, but I do have reservations about hanging my coworkers out to dry. It'd be different if I was on a bigger team, but there are only 4 of us. I don't know.. Maybe I'm being stupid, but it makes me really uncomfortable.
I definitely don't plan on bringing this up, but I was just starting to think about it in case they ask..
