Sounds like Christmass Shopping

You have to love just how odd computers can be, but first you have to understand how my setup is even though this should not have happened.

My setup is simple, soundcard is onboard with a 3way splitter wire which I have on my desktop. Conected to that 3 way splitter I have my speakers in my monitor which are always turned off and my headphones which I generally listen with to help blot out the unmentional sounds of gossip and baskets. (okay so not really unmentionable but definately annoying.)

Anyway heres what happened, been getting a bit of distortion from my headphones so I unplugged them from the splitter and plugged them back. This resulted in my computer restarting... Can anyone offer an explanation to this?

Also I have yet again put off the christmass shopping, but then I kinda have a job or something now so we'll see how that goes. Not that it has any bearing on the procrastination when it comes to the shopping but I did miss two possible days of shopping when I went for interviews, okay so maybe not 2 days but definately a few hours each day... Of course the good thing here is that I am not in the polyanna or however you spell it for the farm this year, though I wouldn't have minded for once.

On the flipside to me not shopping is my parents asking me what I wanted for christmass this year. This is a never ending struggle for them to understand that as I have previously mentioned I don't exactly want anything at all. Sure a lot of things would be nice but there is no specific thing that I require. I could say I want a Xbox 360, another flat screen monitor or even a Wii but truly I don't have any real use for any of those items.

Another thing about Christmass, its Christmass not X-Mass while I still don't go in for the whole religion thing it somehow devalues the concept behind the day. Christmass is supposed to be a celebration of the sacrifices the savior Jesus made, even if it is a work of fiction its still a good story. Now my problem is that I do believe that referring to it as X-mass just makes it another thing that the corporate world may aquire and devalues it wholeheartedly.

And whats up with referring to it as X-mass anyway? wouldn't X be cross not christ? that would be cross mass? So now we're celebrating pinning the guy to the cross and not the sacrifice itself?
