DIY: mac n cheese quotation marks around words

Jan 12, 2007 20:22

I've always loved reading famous quotes. I mean, it's profound poetry...like microwave mac n cheese, they are real handy-dandy pick-me-ups.

I've been glad for the recent trend of putting quotes within e-mail signatures
I often get a lot from peoples closing quotes. I just wish there was a way to
rotate them to keep e-mail fresh, ya know?

Anyway, I had a situation at work the other day, which led to yet another epiphany-type of torture. While I'm not divulging the details of a drone's predicament, I'd like to share with all of you, my first quote:

"When your life begins to have meaning, that is when you
realize the power of your word(s)."

Choosing your words carefully inherently means that you have fallen in love with the dictionary. I know, it's kooky, and yet it makes sense...on many levels, sometimes. And in those times I want to declare my unwavering love for Entendre, who brings me
so much joy, amusement, and satisfaction. (Please, keep your puns to yourself.}

Unkay, in contrast to symbols, signs, and icons, words carry a strand of inferences which are subject to each individual's background; that's right, semantics is the problem, and just in case you haven't heard...nothing is universal, there is no
such thing as common sense, and no, not everybody knows that!

So how to mean what you say, or how to say what you mean? (Who said that, anyway?)
It is virtually impossible, and forget about spelling any of it correctly.

I'm stuck between eloquence and ignorance.
Me being the ignorant one.

I have no idea how to build that bridge
that will lead me toward my horizon.

Sorrow and Joy,
One brush.
