Fifteen Phases

Oh, no. This isn't very good.

This isn't very good at all, I don't think.

And with only a couple of days. More than an inconvenience, really, but as disturbing as those problems may be, my own problems can't even be the worst of it.

Not good.

I'll live.

Sorry, that was somewhat rude of me actually, there's been a minor setback, thank you for your concern Merlin.

That's all right. But what's-

Is it because of the last curse?

lupusnonfacit January 9 2009, 06:37:22 UTC
This curse, certainly not. A curse, partially. A colleague of mine has gone missing at a very inopportune time and, predictably, I have no Plan B.

It's complicated, really complicated. But survivable.

Missing? Who- What happened? What's going on?

Is everyone safe?

Severus Snape.

And I'm not sure if everyone will be safe unless I get off my duff and try to work out what I'm going to do about this within the next two days.

He's gone?! Do you mean he's missing in the city, or that he's found a way home?

Your duff? What's happening in two days?

I would say found a way home, but you see, Severus was dead.

A curse. Not a city one, one from a long, long time ago.

But I thought that meant you couldn't leave this land. Where would he go? I'm sorry.

Is it alright to ask what the curse is?

[ooc: At least there aren't any flairs?]

That was my assumption as well. Apparently that hypothesis needs a little rethinking.

Normally I am not at all inclined to make a note of it unless forced to, but seeing the situation I am in where half the city on any day is comprised of vampires and etcetera, I may as well elevate myself to a position of honesty. Bitten by a werewolf.

I hope it doesn't change your opinions.

Perhaps there is somewhere else they are able to go to. Another land similar to this.

I doubt my opinion would change. But, what is a werewolf?

Or perhaps they go to Heaven. I like the idea of that.

It's-- well, a bit complicated to explain. It means 'man-wolf,' and is essentially such a thing. A human who becomes a wolf for one night a month, in accordance with the lunar cycle. They're formed because of a curse created by dark magic, an extremely powerful kind from very long ago-- the fifteen-hundreds, I would wager --which has thankfully fallen out of the hands of man where I come from.

Any place that is better than this 'city'.

And one of these people bit you. Are you concerned because you're still injured?

I'm concerned because I am one and the moon is currently heavily waxing gibbous. It's infectious. Virulently so.

It was transferred? You're worried about passing the curse on to someone else.

If it's a curse, then there has to be a way to break it.

Or killing them. Yes. Severus Snape knew how to make a potion of sorts that would keep my mind whole during that one night, but that is no longer an option. Hence the current state of scrambling around to get everything in order. I never think.

Greater men than myself have tried and failed, I'm afraid. I'm sure that it must be possible for someone at some time, but then so is becoming the Minister.
