...I hate people...
-.- Retail...sucks... If I didn't need this money so bad, I'd leave.
Within my first hour on shift my register locked up three times...
Second hour, two people stormed off angry...
Third hour...I had a woman call me "Young Man" (seriously, wtf? I have a double d chest damnit) and demand to talk to the district manager because I didn't put her bags in her cart for her- which I didn't do for two reasons...one: I felt like utter crap- I was so dizzy and nauseas I was having to lean on my register to stand up...and two: she was still loading things on the belt and they told us not to load into the cart until they're done unloading. She then went on to rant, while I finished scanning her things, about how "The way I see it...I come here, I go hunt for what I need, I put it in my cart, I haul it around the store, I bring it up here, I put it on the belt, I put it in my cart and car, I take it home, I put it away, I cook it... WalMart's profiting from MY work."
Oh, yes...and also during the second hour... When I was first clocking in, I ran into my sister (who'd just stopped in with my 10 month old neice to do her shopping). I realized I'd forgotten to buy me a water from the vending machines in the back so I walked back to the back end of the grocery side with her then let her go on her way while I went to get my drink and went to get my register assignment. About an hour or two later she sent me a text (note that it's been snowing AND raining since this morning) to tell one of the CSM's that somebody needed to bring in some carts on the grocery side of the store because carts were clogging up parking spots and the cart corrals were so full they were sticking out into driving lanes. I paged a CSM through my register and Vickie came over (NOBODY likes her...she's mean). I told her what my sister said and she didn't even let me finish before she snapped that "they're doing the best they can out there with that weather!" (There were NO carts inside on the grocery side...not one.) After that she left...and then a few minutes later she came back and rather meanly stated "You shouldn't be checking your messages up here anyway!" Gad, I can't stand her...
